Combiner Wars legends-class Blackjack is minor player from the G1 line that has recently been drafted in the IDW Combiner Wars comic book by Starscream to join the Stunticons in an attempt to help control Menasor’s mind. Blackjack transforms into a sports coupe reminiscent of an Acura NSX, and can be used as a chest plate for Menasor. Blackjack comes with an ax weapon.  Read on for the full review and photos. Combiner Wars Powerglide Review
Combiner Wars legends-class Powerglide is a classic G1 character that’s only recently been inducted into the ranks of the Aerialbots, transforming from A-10 Thunderbolt II (aka the Warthog) jet to robot and now to Superion’s rifle, essentially making him a triple-changer and a Targetmaster. This is the second Generations-line new mold for Powerglide, the previous coming in 2008 in the Universe line as a much larger ultra-class figure. Read on for the full review and photos. Combiner Wars Quickslinger (Slingshot) Review
Combiner Wars deluxe Quickslinger is the current name Hasbro has given to G1 Aerialbot Slingshot. Quickslinger/Slingshot didn’t make it out to mass-retail, instead replaced by newcomer Alpha Bravo, but Hasbro is releasing Quickslinger in the US as a shared online exclusive as part of the Transformers’ “May Mayhem†celebration next month. Read on for the full review and photos. Continue reading Combiner Wars Quickslinger (Slingshot) Review
Combiner Wars Brake-Neck (Wildrider) Review
Combiner Wars deluxe Brake-Neck is the current name Hasbro has given to G1 Stunticon Wildrider. It’s a little unusual to have 2 characters in the Stunticons with the word “brake/break” in their names, but when you’re a wild rider, you might just break your neck, I suppose. Brake-Neck/Wildrider didn’t make it out to mass-retail, instead replaced by newcomer Offroad, but Hasbro is releasing Brake-Neck in the US as a shared online exclusive as part of the Transformers’ “May Mayhem” celebration next month. Read on for the full review and photos. Continue reading Combiner Wars Brake-Neck (Wildrider) Review
Slingshot and Wildrider Coming To The US This May – Updated

TFviews has a first look at the US releases of the final G1 Aerialbot Slingshot (renamed Quickslinger for the Combiner Wars line) and Stunticon Wildrider (renamed Brake-Neck for Combiner Wars). As part of Transformers’ May Mayhem, Quickslinger and Brake-Neck will be available in the US as online exclusives through participating e-tailers starting May 22nd. UPDATE: Word from Hasbro is that the SRP (Hasbro’s suggested retail price) for each figure will be around the same as regular mass-retail deluxes, though every retailer has the right to charge what they like.
We’ve got an early look at these guys, check out this preview of the TFviews review of Quickslinger and Brake-Neck below, and come back later today for a full review of each figure… Continue reading Slingshot and Wildrider Coming To The US This May – Updated
Masterpiece Thundercracker TRU-exclusive Review
This is TFviews.com’s review of Toys R Us-exclusive Masterpiece Thundercracker.  This MP Thundercracker is based on the TakaraTomy MP-11 Coronation Starscream figure, itself a significant remold from the original MP-3 Starscream, correcting several issues with that original Masterpiece Seeker figure. TRU is charging $69.99, and this is their first Masterpiece Seeker US release after the first 2 – Starscream and Skywarp – were released through Walmart in ’07 and ’09, respectively, with the former released at $49 and the latter at $60, so inflation on the Masterpiece Seekers hasn’t been too painful at least; meanwhile, non-Seeker Masterpieces Rodimus and Grimlock went for $50 and $70, respectively, in the last few years. Keep in mind that Takara release their own MP Thundercracker in ’08 in Japan, but that was a different mold.
This will be another primarily-photos review, I’ll keep notes in list form in their various sections. Once again, great care was taken to present this figure in realistic light whenever possible. Please be sure to check out the large-sized images, this time linked from the medium-sized photo pages. Also, note that some images are comparing the original US Masterpiece Starscream set to this one. Continue reading Masterpiece Thundercracker TRU-exclusive Review
