Transformers Animated gets 2 all new figures, and here’s the official Hasbro look at each. Waspinator is one of those characters that goes back to Beast Wars with great familiarity, and it looks like a big jaw is the major change here, no surprise. Prowl gets an all new figure complete with a sidecar that turns into Samurai armor. There’s been a lot of talk about whether Prowl is new or not, but it’s clear now that this is a total redesign. This Target-exclusive combiner gift set due out sometime next year. Superion here is a repaint of the Energon line’s Superion Maximus, and interestingly, it seems to be the first look at the Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen movie packaging. Check out all of the hi-res Hasbro photos here. 
Check out these official Hasbro photos of the Leader-class Roadbuster Ultra Magnus, and Voyager-class Jetfire & Jetstorm (the set that combines to form Safeguard). It appears the Jetfire/Jetstorm pics are a bit mistransformed, not entirely uncommon for Hasbro photography when it comes to Transformers. 
Check out Hasbro’s official photos of TF:U Smokescreen, part of deluxe wave 5 due out in January ’09. The Hasbro photos are carded as well as loose in both modes. Fans will have to overlook the mistransformed rear end of the car and the shoulders in bot mode, but the images give a good idea of what to expect.
