Re: Wreck-Gar!
I think the problem Hasbro has with trailers in general is that they don't add much play value but they cost a fortune. The idea of the "battle station" seems to be losing traction with the casual consumer audience and kids and Hasbro panders to the money. Hell, look at the dwindling number of accessories thanks to the stupid movie line, apparently nobody carries a damned gun anymore when your hand can just magically turn into one. I'm not surprised Hasbro's sacrificing trailers when the best-selling products in the line are deluxe and basic figures, they're concentrating on the characters, getting maximum character value into a purchase. I bought Hybrid Convoy last year, and ultimately, as much as I dig the trailer, it is pretty secondary to my interest in the set, and I don't have anywhere to put it.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Re: Wreck-Gar!
Do with Hybrid's trailer what I did with my G2 Prime trailer--put it sideways up against a wall, and put Prime on top of it.
Now a tiny Prime figure can still reign tall in your display, perhaps with a figure or two beside him, and you have a built-in shelf riser.
Also, the whole magic-gun-hand thing is mostly isolated to the Movie line and aesthetic. Everybody else still has a regular gun.

I'd be willing to bet that the Dodge Ram that ended up as Optimus Prime was originally going to be Trailbreaker at one point.138 Scourge wrote:That's what I reckon.andersonh1 wrote:I know there's a "Trailblazer" on the market. If I recall right, that was the reason Cybertron Overhaul wasn't named "Trailbreaker".
You'd think with something like that, someone would've seen an opportunity for cross-promotion with the Alternators line, but nooooo....

No idea on that one, but I thought the Jeep remold that became Swindle was gonna be Trailbreaker before they decided "Okay, we need Decepticons".andersonh1 wrote:

That, or maybe it was gonna be Trailbreaker for the second repaint, but Hasbro didn't want so many black toys in the one case, something like that? Seems like I've read both things at one point or another.

Prime was intended to be Ironhide actually.
