Wreck-Gar!

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Wreck-Gar!

Post by 138 Scourge »

Good lord, "Generations". Just when I think we know everything you're gonna throw at us for awhile, you go and pull things like this:

I mean, seriously, who saw this coming? I would've thought that the Animated variety was gonna be the best new Wreck-Gar we'd get, but this guy might be a contender. Amazing.

I saw this coming. Hasbro's really pushing the movie characters next year for some reason, I guess? Plus we got those listings like two weeks ago that included him.

I kinda really dig him. And you know me, I'm not the biggest Wreck-Gar fan or anything. But his face is just so smug and jerk-like. This is not a Wreck-Gar who dares to be stupid--this is a Wreck-Gar who's downright fucking crazy. I really, really want to pit him up against Lockdown, like they're ancient enemies or something. Like Lockdown started life as a Junkion and then managed to get off-planet, still hoarding and keeping his thieving tendencies, becoming a powerful mercenary to feed his obsession with New Junk.

I don't like how they've transposed his robot mode with what appears to be the vehicle mode of some PCC. It's misleading at first glance--I was like, "What, now they made him some kind of red half-track vehicle? Why not a garbage truck, if not a bike?" Then I realized the huge wheels on Wreck-Gar's shoulders and the fact that none of the details matched up. It's just a tad misleading.

Also who the fuck designs these covers, they're awful. I know the point was to show off Wreck-Gar (obviously) but these backgrounds are Goddamn annoyingly bad.

PS: Your hotlink is broken.

EDIT: Also here's some pics of Tracks:

I do hope those crazy Chinese are mistransforming him and that those side panels can go down to be Drift or Masterscream-like hip armour and that his arms can go the whole way down. It looks like they can so yeah. Besides that and his weird-lookin' feet, I'm pretty much sold.

Eh, I wasn't trying to hotlink so much as just link to the image, but good lookin' out anyway.

As for that truck on the cover there, that's actually Perceptor's vehicle mode. Makes some sense, I guess.

And yeah, that expression, it does sell the "unstoppable crazy-ass warrior" vibe the Junkions had during their early scene in the movie. Hell yeah for that.

What, you mean Wreck-gar doesn't turn into Perceptor? That's the first thing that bothers me, even over the horrible greenness.

It's not broken, they just block linking directly to files. He wouldn't know that because he preloaded the image before clicking the link, so it was cached.

Clearly mistransformed, but I haven't a clue what to expect when it does come out. Except awesome.

Damn, Generations definitely is going to rock out this next year! If only there was a faster pace to the releases, and more figures at market - it's getting stupid seeing a million Thrusts and WFC Bumblebees alongside another million Sea Assault Ravages and Dlx Ironhides and a billion wave 1 PCCs - geez, right now it feels like Transformers is in a dead zone. Hasbro needs to get this new product OUTTTTTTT!!!!

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Hm. Yeah, I saw about the listings, but I didn't notice 'em until yesterday. Of course, I haven't been paying as close attention as I used to, so that explains how I'd missed it.

As for the major push of movie characters, though. Am I missing something? They've got Scourge and Wreck-Gar, maybe Kup and/or Arcee (but not for sure about either of those last two). If there's more, I'm totally in. I guess the Masterpiece Rodimus, but is there supposed to be more movie guys in Generations?

That Wreck-Gar figure looks really cool. I've never really been much of a fan of the character but they did a nice job on this figure. Also, nice to finally see some clear images of Tracks, even if it is mistransformed. Really looking forward to these Generations figures. They look to be some of the best they've made so far.

Wreck-Gar was a figure I was hoping Hasbro would make. Also love the Perceptor, I heard they would repaint the mould to be Reflector I'm not sure it would look good though.

I hope they do make Kup and Arcee figures.

Word is that, yeah, Kup.

Also, holy holy fuck new stuff from the club magazine and new pics from Hasbro. There are scans, if you know where to look.

'A new Laser Prime.' Holy mother of fuck a new Laser Prime. I was literally speechless. Also, Mindset. And everybody else. Jesus.

I don't even know what to say besides 'Thank you Toy Gods.'

I remeber when Lazer Prime came out, I didn't liked it. By that time I had an aversion to G2, I got better now and I'll definitely be picking up a Lazer Prime. :D
