Sam/shia le bouf,do you belove him or loate him?
Is sam/shia le bouf, the Wil wheaten/wesley crusher "loated actor" of the fan base francise?
I remember the most "loated" by the fans Star trek next generation cast member/actor was wil wheaten/wesley chrusher. to the point the show creaters had to get rid of the guy. due to him mocking the fandom at conventions. and his poor acting skills in the TV show.
So my question is since the star trek francise fan base has their most loated actor/cast member.
It is a safe bet to assume sam/shia le bouf is the most loated actor in the TF fan base, in the films & in interviews? similar to the role
the fans of star trek gave wil wheaten.
before sam/shia leo bouf, most TF fans dis-liked the fake fictional daniel character from the 1986 movie, season 3/4 & the japanese
headmasters series.
I Suspose the star wars francise has those 2 actors who the fan base dis-likes. the 2 who played anakin skywalker in episodes 1,2 & 3.
Another interesting question I ask everyone in this thread. Can a loated actor from a high rated francise that is dis-liked by the fan.
have any chance at a successful career afterwards doing non-TF related movies/shows?
I ask that above question because usually when a high rated fandom from a francise dis-likes the actor. word gets around, the guy isn't
beloved,no one wants to hire him. he's got no fan base. gets more angry letters than positive letters.
Just look at wil wheaten/wesley chrusher from star trek the next generation. the show got rid of him half way thru. he wasn't in any of
the star trek movies. he was in poor rated/low budget un-noticeable movies/shows.
The star wars episodes one,two & 3 actors who both played anakin skywalker are rumored to be black listed, can't find work. and got told off at star wars conventions for almost ruining the star wars francise. thanks to their bad acting skills.
I honestly think the only real reason shia got put in several movies other non-TF movies while filming transformers 2007,rotf & dotm. is
because micheal bay asked & put in favors to dreamworks & steven spielberg to please hire shia leo bouf that indy movie & wall street.
a in a desperate attemp to pump up shia le bouf acting resume so viewers would be impressed & go see the 2007,ROTF & Dotm Movies. SADLY that strategy back fired since shia leo bouf bad acting skills got mocked in that indy movie & that wall street movie.
Without micheal bay putting in & asking for favors to dreamworks & steven spielberg. Shia le bouf won't get anymore high rated movie
offers. SURE he'll get some movie offers but they'll be so low budget productions it'll ruin his acting career if he accepts them.
I just don't see shia leo bouf getting any high profile high budget movie deals in the distant future. where he carries a movie all by
himself & is the lead star.
Shia le bouf will most likely get SAFE ACTING CAREER MOVIE ROLES. where he's not the lead/main star. like he did in that indy & wall
street movie.
I just don't see shia leo bouf transferring that well to college groupies type movies. where there are 5 cool guys & 5 cool girls that
have mis-adventures in college or on jobs. Shia le bouf's,doesn't seem like a perfect fit for these movies. due to him not being that popular among the in-crowds. he's no freddy prince,no wil smith.

Honestly, I don't see that Wil Wheaton (or LaBeouf) is a "loathed" actor. I know there is a pretty vocal group of Trek fans that didn't care for Wesley but I've never understood why he gets so much flack.Tigermegatron wrote:Is sam/shia le bouf, the Wil wheaten/wesley crusher "loated actor" of the fan base francise?
I don't see why not. Just because some people didn't like an actor in one role doesn't mean they wont like them a different role.Another interesting question I ask everyone in this thread. As I understand it, the creators didn't get rid of him, it was Wheaton's decision to leave TNG in the fourth season. And actually, the creators had several episodes with cameo appearances with him in the remainder of the series, including an appearance in one of the movies (Nemesis). These days, primarily Wheaton does a lot of voice acting for some popular cartoons and video games.Just look at wil wheaten/wesley chrusher from star trek the next generation. the show got rid of him half way thru. he wasn't in any of the star trek movies. he was in poor rated/low budget un-noticeable movies/shows.
Rumored they've been blacklisted? Where have you heard that from? Hayden Christensen has been in several movies since he was in Star Wars (including a movie called "Jumper", which I really enjoyed personally). And Jake Lloyd I've read decided to retire from acting in order to pursue his education. The star wars episodes one,two & 3 actors who both played anakin skywalker are rumored to be black listed, can't find work. and got told off at star wars conventions for almost ruining the star wars francise. thanks to their bad acting skills.
LaBeouf has actually been in the biz for long time, working his way up the latter and gaining attention for it like most other actors. It's not the favors of one director that's gotten him those roles. He started out with bit parts in tv series and eventually he was a co-star in a tv series called "Even Stevens". Then he got some bit parts in a few movies (such as "I, Robot") before he started landing lead roles, such as besides the ones you mentioned, "Eagle Eye" and "Disterbia".I honestly think the only real reason shia got put in several movies other non-TF movies while filming transformers 2007,rotf & dotm. is because micheal bay asked & put in favors to dreamworks & steven spielberg to please hire shia leo bouf that indy movie & wall street. a in a desperate attemp to pump up shia le bouf acting resume so viewers would be impressed & go see the 2007,ROTF & Dotm Movies. I don't see him sticking to the sidelines when he's been the lead in several high profile/big budget movies already. More likely he'll continue getting lead roles given he's becoming a pretty big action star in Hollywood.I just don't see shia leo bouf getting any high profile high budget movie deals in the distant future. where he carries a movie all by himself & is the lead star.

Wil Wheaton has *legions* of fans. I'm not even into Star Trek and I know that.
Anyway, Shia is a charisma vacuum in everything I've seen him in. I don't know if it's how he's directed, but his emotionless line delivery (and that includes the NONONONO MOVEMOVEMOVEMOVE stuff), vacant just-off-to-the-side stare and half-open mouth make me pine for the days of Carlos and his frijoles. Any shot in the first two TF movies that consisted of Sam and Mikaela together was like a punch to the face with a fistful of morphine.
What's the opposite of candy? Potato? Yeah. Shia and Megan are eyepotato. Total eyepotato.

Certainly, if Steven Spielberg thinks you're the next big thing. I don't see Shia leaving our collective consciousness anytime soon, but if he retains the testicular fortitude that got Harrison bloody Ford to call him an "idiot", he might at least be entertaining under better directors.Tigermegatron wrote:Can a loathed actor from a high rated francise that is dis-liked by the fan.

Re: Sam/shia le bouf,do you belove him or loate him?
I've got no beef with LeBeouf (it's not hard to look the right spelling up, man). He's certainly not one of my favorite actors ever, but I don't find him as offensively bad as Gomess or Harrison Ford seem to.
Thinking of big-time action guy stuff, back when the first Die Hard came out, I would never have imagined Bruce Willis would wind up evolving into one of the toughest-looking sumbitches alive, but there we go.
Oh yeah, I wanted to say something about Wheaton, too. What the hell was people's problem with that dude? Well, not Wheaton, but what was the problem with Wesley Crusher? I always liked the guy, back in the day. Sure, maybe it seemed goofy that this kid was one of the Enterprise's bridge crew, but hell, both of his parents were Starfleet, that's likely the only life he knew, and he was a child prodigy, right? I mean, a prodigy in an age where super-technology is the norm. I dunno, people like to gripe about stuff, I guess. Then again, maybe I just liked him because I was watching Next Generation and thinking "Hey, the kid from Stand By Me's flying the ship!"
Man, that says something about this day and age. Shia looks like way more of a normal dude than what I'd usually see as an "action" guy, but between the TF movies and stuff like "Eagle Eye" (heard about, haven't actually seen it), I suppose he is. I honestly don't know if that's a good or bad thing, that action movie guys don't have to look like badasses anymore. It does make the protagonist more relatable, I guess, when he's just this average guy. You never feel like Jason Statham or Danny Trejo are in any real danger.Sparky Prime wrote: More likely he'll continue getting lead roles given he's becoming a pretty big action star in Hollywood.

I wouldn't say I find him "offensively bad", just incredibly boring. But like I said, that's probably the directing, and him feeling he's on Spielberg's leash or whatever.
I look forward to grizzled old Big Boss Shia founding a fortified nation for overexposed teenage actors in the future.

Wesley Crusher's problem was that gray jumpsuit. Once he traded it in for a starfleet uniform, everything was okay.

I thought Shia really carried the first movie and did a good job. He's still good in 2 and 3, but I'll be ready for a new protagonist in the next film.

Does that make Michael Bay Zero?Gomess wrote:I look forward to grizzled old Big Boss Shia founding a fortified nation for overexposed teenage actors in the future.
I'll confess, I found Shia pretty damn entertaining in the first movie, he kind of carried it for me. He's not the *best* actor, but he's generally funny and likable, in my opinion. That worked really well in the first movie, less so in the second (though hardly anything worked in the second). He's better in DOTM, because he's got this thing going where it seems like this is where he's *supposed* to grow up, but he can't quite manage it and it's pissing him off, and it works for his character. A lot of times in situations like this characters in movies just come off like dicks, but while Sam was definitely being a jerk at times, I sympathized with his frustration and how he let it out. It's hardly Oscar-worthy stuff, but it was above-par for a Michael Bay film. He at least seemed more enthusiastic about being there than Hugo Weaving.
Mainly it's just that Shia maintained some screen presence in DOTM, which is pretty impressive when you're sharing space with Alan Tudyk, John Malkovich, and John Turturro, who I think ate about three-quarters of the scenery between them.

I guess, but that makes Spielberg the Boss, and he just hasn't earned that.BWprowl wrote:Does that make Michael Bay Zero?Gomess wrote:I look forward to grizzled old Big Boss Shia founding a fortified nation for overexposed teenage actors in the future.

I like Wil Wheaton better in the "Big Bang Theory" where he plays himself being a total dick. Hilarious stuff right there. I like Wil Wheaton, and sometimes I like Wesley, but mostly I just found him annoying. And I think the reason is because he's the prodigy. It's like "Oh well aren't you perfect with your graduating everything at age 10!" While the rest of us have to struggle like hell just to get through high school.
And Hayden Christiansen couldn't act his way out of a paper sack. But, that's only one complaint out of many that I have about the prequels. I thought Jake Loyd did a good job though.
As for "the Beef"... eh. I could take him or leave him. He's ok, but there's an irritating cockyness about him that I don't like. Or insincerety. Yeah, Insincerety. He's insincere. and that's annoying. But not as bad as say Ashton Kutcher or Patrick Dempsey. I don't like either one of those guys. If the Beef is insincere then Ashton takes that to the nth degree. I really can't stand him in pretty much anyting I've seen him in. And the only two things I've liked Patrick Dempsey in were Enchanted and TF3 and really the great thing about TF3 was that he got punched in the face and then died. There's a smugness about him that just irritates me to no end. He actually kind of lost that for a bit in Enchanted which is why I can tollerate watching him in it (aside from the fact that it was an awesome movie).
Anyway, just my two cents.
