Hasbro's Masterpiece Rodimus Prime
http://www.tfviews.com/news/toysandcollectibles/1256
Thanks to toycollectors.com.au, we have our first look at Hasbro's version of MP Rodimus Prime. The image shows that Rodimus will come with Targetmaster Offshoot rather than a trailer, and will be a Toys R Us exclusive, like MP Grimlock was.

Re: Hasbro's Masterpiece Rodimus Prime
I'm assuming JK Rowling/Warner Bros has a stranglehold on the copyright of that name.Gomess wrote:"Offshoot"? What's wrong with Firebolt? =[
Anyway, I find it funny as hell that Hasbro's choosing to sell this thing as "Rodimus Prime" considering it can't even assume Rodimus's vehicle mode. Actually, I'm just a little miffed about so much functionality being cut from the toy. I mean, he's gonna have that whole extra side to the vehicle mode with its various transformation-related bits, and it'll all just be totally useless. If anyone was crazy enough to buy this toy for a kid, they'd be very confused.
Of course, I didn't buy Takara's Roddy on account of it apparently being constructed from eggshells and wishes, so I guess there's no winning.

Re: Hasbro's Masterpiece Rodimus Prime
Well, it's certainly pretty... I don't know, my decision may be pending early reviews. I actually considered gathering the funds to order the Takara version, but the QC horror stories scared me away. Sorry, for $200, that thing had better at least be able to stand-- and apparently some of them can't. Hopefully Hasbro will be using the upcoming "fixed" Takara one as a basis, but at this point, we don't even know how "fixed" it'll be...
I disappear.

I was able to fiddle around with the toy & find a un-documented 1986 Truck/cab mode for MP Rodimus prime. with the legs sticking out.
Here's a u-tube video of mine showing the Un-documented 1986 styled MP Rodimus prime truck/cab mode:

not shown in the u-tube video above. the forearms with the metal rods on them can be rotated upwards & form smoke stacks to make the alt mode seem more like optimus's smoke stacks in vechicle mode.
please while your at my u-tube page. please check out all my 20 plus videos & please suscbribe to my page.

Re: Hasbro's Masterpiece Rodimus Prime
Honestly, the Hasbro prices make these MP TF toys a STEAL OF A DEAL. paying $50 or $60 has got to be leaps & bounds better than paying $200 for the Takara MP Rodimus version.Sparky Prime wrote:http://www.tfviews.com/news/toysandcollectibles/1256

Even though I own the Takara version of MP Rodimus Prime. I'm also getting the Hasbro version of MP Rodimus Prime. Because I love Masterpiece Transformers toys,I view them as perfection adult themed TF toys. Also Rodimus Prime is my Favorite persona/media character from the USA Hasbro TF toy line/cartoon/comics.
Re: Hasbro's Masterpiece Rodimus Prime
I'm still not getting this for two reasons: one is the gimped out lack of trailer which as Prowl said reduces the functionality and two, I'm out of MP. Too expensive and I need the money and shelf space. Actually, I need the money to buy shelf space.
