The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone!
Generation 1, Generation 2 - Removable fists? Check. Unlicensed vehicle modes? Check. Kickass tape deck robot with transforming cassette minions? DOUBLE CHECK!!!

Shout Factory probably going to release Headmasters, etc.

Post by Onslaught Six »

There's been some Tweets and some forum topics. I don't have any links because I suck, but the info's out there. They're apparently doing it. Well, along with BW, but who cares about that? That's been out forever.

Personally I'm psyched, I haven't seen any episodes of any of the serieses in years.

If they put Masterforce out on DVD then I will love Shout Factory forever.

This is awesome. How long have we in the States been waiting for an official release of these series over here?

So.... RiD DVD set maybe eventually?

....Do you guys not have these? Damn, I would've burned y'all copies of my Metrodome release years ago if I knew!!

I hope they leave the Star TV dub on there too. The UK boxsets had 'em, and they're half the fun.

RID's a different case. RID was owned by Saban (who did the dubbing) who was then bought in their entirety by Disney. Whether Saban bought back all the properties they onced owned a few months back, or they just bought back PR (meaning they don't own all the Masked Rider, Beetleborgs etc. back catalogue either) then Disney still owns RID. And fuck if Disney is going to let Hasbro release it.

I don't, but I could have bothered to download/buy them if I wanted to. This is just incentive.

If they have the bad dubs on, you guys need to post your favourites when you get 'em. It's one of my favourite parts of Transformers.

I hope they release Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory in a collectors set and add the Zone and the Scramble city episodes as a bonus too.

I would love to have the Japanese series on dvd as I haven't seen them at all. Evar. I plan to get RID at some point but need the obvious region free dvd player as well. It's on my list just not high on it.

Your PC should work fine with it, actually, since they're region free last I checked...Either way, I'm gonna buy this if/when it comes out.

I went to the amazonuk.com sites years ago & took advantage of the 75% off sales that were going on at the time. I got the UK Rid complete DVD collection. I also got the UK Complete japanese G-1 ultimate complete collection of headmasters, masterforce & victory.

06,is right, most DVD players inside computers can play all regions. I tried it with the UK Rid & UK G-1 series.

In addition to that some cheaply priced DVD players sold at walmart,target,kmart,etc.. can play all regions of DVD's. I use the Colby DVD player that I buy at walmart for around $20.

I'm honestly just wondering what shout is going to be doing with these G-1 Japanese cartoon series. will shout hire new voice actors or will they use the weird cheap english sound track from decades ago? that was rumored/sounded like it had 5 voice actors doing 30 different character voices in each cartoon.

If their using new voice actors, then hasbro might want to air this stuff on the hub.

I kinda wish, that the hub would air one different TF cartoon series per year from the past. and then hasbro would create newer updated toy molds for the cartoon airing on the hub. 12 new mold toys would please the majority. in deluxe voyager & ultra size levels, maybe one leader sized toy. the toys could be placed in the generations toy line like the WFC toys were.
