Post Office information (BTA)

Buying and trading on the open robot market! Optimus Prime might call this slavery, but he's never had to track down Energon Ultra Magnus before.

Post Office information (BTA)

Post by Dominic »

Technically, the PO is not completely out of line on the first item, but it bears mentioning. They are morally, if not legally, out of line on the second.

-Post Office flat-rate shipping boxes are designed for one use only. It is possible to get two rounds out of them, but it is difficult, and the boxes need to be opened carefully.

-media/book rate does not apply to comics. Despite comics being media, and being sold tax free as periodicals, the post office does not count them as books. When shipping comics, be sure to tell the clerk the package is full of "books", not comics.

Dom
-seriously going to look at other shipping options.

Interesting. I shipped some comics out last Thursday, and it didn't come up. I'm glad I didn't say exactly what I was shipping, though I seem to remember shipping comics in the past via media mail without a problem. Maybe it's a recent change?

Or maybe my local PO is non-compliant. I dunno. Either way, I am going to specify books whenever possible.

Dom
-they cheat. I cheat.

I've never shipped comics, but when ever I take a package in, they only ever ask if there's anything flamable/dangerous.

PCP sold out already? Damn.

Anyway, books and such are supposed to move at a reduced rate.
