Nefarious

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

Nefarious

Post by Onslaught Six »

Is anybody reading this? I suspect not, but Furman's problems could certainly be minimized by the Movieverse, and apparently there's a WHOAMG BIG BAD REVEAL at the end that I can find precisely zero about on the Interwebs. And things I don't know about both bother and intrigue me. Plus, Reign of Starscream was good even though it was Movieverse.

EDIT: The reveal:
Spoiler
The Initiative (ANOTHER human-based government group, don't they have enough of those?) is rebuilding the AllSpark for...something. Ooooh aaah. It didn't work when Starscream tried it, why should it work for you?

I saw this issue in the comic shop yesterday. I'm tempted to pick it up, but I have no emotional attachment to the movie-verse characters. I could be persuaded if the story turns out to be good.

I read the issue of "Tales of the Fallen" that ties in. So far, it is not horrible.

I am not running out to get a Ravage figure just yet though.

I got Ravage ages ago, back in July. He was what I grabbed instead of Sideswipe, since they didn't have him. I also brought Backstop with me, and my friend Alan proceeded to make up this ridiculous voice and character for Ravage, who is an ROTF fanboy and thinks it's great. Backstop, of course, is British and a refined moviegoer who thinks it was "quite the hunk of shit."

We had a lot of fun that weekend.

Not having read the issue, I'm curious as to what methods they might be using...
Spoiler
Are they trying to recreate the Allspark by just infusing a cube carved to look like the Allspark with power from the Transformer's sparks like Starscream did in "Reign of Starscream"? Or are they trying something else?

Hey, the comic's been out for a few days, and this is a dedicated topic, so I'm just going to forgo spoiler tags if that's okay with you guys.

The Initiative is gathering up various Transformer corpses (including...Ravage?) and seems to be using those to construct the AllSpark, or "feed" it, or something. It's the first issue, not really a lot of information. Soundwave actually comes down to Earth to investigate, and reveals more Ravage-esque G1-inspired animal minions (including Rumble as a Rhino, and Buzzsaw in a design inspired by Booster X10 and colored like Laserbeak). Breakaway makes his triumphant debut and then gets killed in one shot by Soundwave. It's not *bad* yet. Interesting, at the very least, though I agree that it's annoying that it seems like the only idea they ever have for Movie Sequel comics is "rebuild the AllSpark".

There really is not much they can do. The status quo can only really be changed by the movies.

The "rebuild the All-Spark" plot worked in "Reign of Starscream". Hopefully, Furman can do something with it here as well.

IDW's been slipping. We didn't get Bumblebee #4 here until last week.

I personally would blame Diamond. Either way, this is getting annoying. (Given how few copies stores order, it is not fun to have to figure out if I missed an issue or if Diamond just did not bother to ship it.)

I think I might just start getting compilations after the next round of story arcs wraps up. Getting issues individually I wind up forgetting what happened last issue. Ongoing I don't have that problem because we talk about it pretty frequently here, but the rest... I just forget.
