Would it be possible to change my username?

Post by Shockwave »

Not really a big deal to me, but if I can, I'd like to change it to Shockwave. I think I'm going to start using that (or as close to that as I can) for most of my online usage from here on out and I figured it never hurts to ask.

This is a JT question, so it will have to wait until after SDCC. Just letting you know somebody saw it though.

Just my two cents, but I'd keep your original name. So much more distinctive than just switching to a straight-up transformer name, y'know?

Lol, I can see that. In fact, that's really why I won't be at all bummed out if I have to keep it. Although I signed up with it mostly out of force of habit. The only time recently I didn't sign up with it out of force of habit was my xbox live ID, which is Shockwave1701. Apparently at some point I decided Shockwave was my fave TF ever and thought it would be cool to have it as an ID.

I'd say you keep it, too. We already know you as Transtrekkie because that's what we've known you as for years, anyway.

Never been a fan of people choosing to change their identities without a long period of absence, or anything. But then, I've been Onslaught Six since 2002. Everywhere on the Internet. I know a guy who routinely changed his username on every forum for ages, and finally settled on one that was so horribly and stupidly generic that I refused to acknowledge it.

Also, I still call AU AU despite him using a different identity now. Screw him!

Transtrekkie has generally been my online ID for roughly 10 years or more now and I'm starting to use Shockwave more and more these days, so I thought I'd ask just out of some desire to keep things consistent. It's a passing question anyway, if JT comes back and says no, I'll be perfectly happy either way. Besides even if it does get changed, you'll all probably still call me TT or Trek, or trekkie which is fine by me too. Truth be told, I'll answer to pretty much anything.

On the other hand, we called Crossrook by that name long before he officially changed it.

I saw give JT a few days 'afore hounding him too much.

Wait, I'm supposed to hound? Cause I haven't hounded at all yet. This thread is so far the only time I've asked the question and in hindsight I suppose this is the kind of thing that should probably have been asked via PM. Although, I figure whatever the answer is other users might want to know. I'm not really planning on pushing it beyond this thread, like I said, I'm perfectly ok with the one I have now, I just really wanted to know if it was even a possibility.

That is definitely a JT question, as I cannot be certain how to do this, or if it is possible.

I'm sure it's possible, and if JT says it's okay, I'm not opposed. My own hangups about usernames and identities are just me being a douche.
