Deja Vu,I've figured out MP-12 Lambors robot height.

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Deja Vu,I've figured out MP-12 Lambors robot height.

Post by Tigermegatron »

Deja Vu.

I've figured out Takara MP-12 Lambor Robot height is & it is under 7 & 3/4 inches tall & $27 USA Ultra sized.

Figuring out MP-12 Lambor's robot height & size class was rather easy to do. Because Takara & Igear have both used the same exact MP-01 Convoy next to a newer figure comparision pic for years. apparently Takara's favorite comparision pic to show customers the size of newer MP TF toys is MP-01 Convoy.

I own & have measured Igear faith leader,it's 7 & 3/4 inch tall in robot mode from head to toe. as you can see in the comparisions pic Faith leader's robot head comes to the half way point in mp-01 convoy's abdomen silver chest grill, exactly like mp-12 lambor does.

Looking at the newer comparisions pics with mp-01 comvoy next to MP-12 Lambor. Reveals that MP-12 Lambor's robot head comes up to the same half way point in mp-01 convoy abdomen silver chest grill like faith leader who is 7 & 3/4 tall in robot mode.

MP-09 Rodimus Convoy is 9.5 inches tall in robot mode & he's leader sized. here is a MP-09 Rodimus Convoy next to MP 01 Convoy sleep mode color variation. as one can plainly see. MP-09 Rodimus convoy's robot head is way over the mp-01 convoy abdomen silver chest grill. MP Rodimus's head reaches a bit into MP-01 Convoys upper chest/vechicle duo windows

Personally,I am glad & relieved MP-12 Lambor is not 9.5 inch leader sized. because I kinda want some decent comparisions scale with these MP TF toys. MP-12 Lambor having a under 7 & 3/4 inch tall robot mode puts the toy in the ultra sized class & a 1/2 to 3/4 inch shorter than MP Starscream. MP Starscream is a bit over 8 inches tall in robot mode from head to toe.

I'm gonna have some patience & wait for the inevitable plus cheaper priced Hasbro version in 2013. Because Sideswipe is not even on my top 50 favorite TF characters/toy wants list. Also i've got plenty of new mold sideswipe toys that were created this decade to holkd me over until Hasbro release MP-Sideswipe in stores in 2013.

Well, pics of this thing in color with MP-10 are out, and it looks like it'll be about 6 inches tall, 6.5 tops. And it's reportedly gonna cost about eighty bucks. Yowch.

Personally, I really don't get why this thing has to exist when we've already got Universe Sideswipe, who I though most everyone felt was a pretty incredible Sideswipe. I mean, if eighty more dollars is worth it to someone for a Sideswipe who's only slightly taller and a little more G1-accurate, more power to them, I guess? But I just don't get it.

My mistake,Sorry,When I wrote this thread. I thought MP Sideswipe was standing in front of MP-01 Convoy. Later on,It was pointed out that MP-Lambor was standing in front of MP-10 Convoy. This is why I got the MP Lambor robot height measurments wrong.

My guess is MP-Lambor is Deluxe sized or short voyager sized in robot mode.

I'm pretty happy with the Alternators version myself which probably is about the same size as this Masterpiece figure. Might not be G1 accurate, but it's a decent enough Sideswipe.

I don't like alternators sideswipe nor Alternators sunstreaker. because the alt mode choice is wrong. the major reason Is the articulation in the hips & knees are extremly restricted & plain awful.

The knee joints could be better, but it's still a nice representation of the character. And I like the Dodge Viper more than the Lamborghini Countach. But if they could have used a modern day Lamborghini for the Alternators line... That would have been cool.

Altmode aside, AltSwipe is still pretty terrible. Whose dumb idea was it to make a convertible with the roof-becomes-chest transformation? And he can't move his hips forward. At all. That's...kind of a big deal, especially when this guy was being released alongside guys like Armada Megatron, who enjoyed HEAPS of hatred for his non-moving hips.

What do you mean the hips can't move forward at all? It's not a great range of movement, but they can go forward a little. And what's wrong with his chest? Once it's latched into place, it's pretty solid. I'd say it's actually more solid than the DeadEnd/Sunstreaker remold of the figure.

Okay, barely, but it's not useful articulation, he can't crouch or do kicks or anything like that. And it's not a stability problem with his chest, it's a question of aesthetics. I think it looks dumb.

He can do sideways kicks and a little bit of a walking pose at least. :P
I really don't see anything wrong with his chest. With how many 'headlight boobs' molds the Alternators line had, it's a welcome variation, and I still like it more than the remold of the figure.
