Would you buy a Primus toy repaint,in ultimate guide colors?
What if Hasbro Released a Cybertron Primus repaint in "Simon furman ultimate guide book colors, would you buy it?
basically, the blue parts would be red. the planet mode could be rusted silver. maybe apply a few rusted gold paint apps on the planet mode for some of the molded cities.
Personally,i'd be tempted to buy this. If hasbro did a decent job on their factory applied paint apps to give the planet mode a rusted silver ancient look. maybe even apply rusted paint apps & weathering effects all over the robot mode.
I think, doing this repaint idea in this thread & releasing it in the TF prime toy line would be awesome.
or at best release it as another USA AMAZON.Com figure under the universe/generations toy package banner art. maybe go the extra mile & have a IDW TF Comic artist draw a battle fight scene with primus & unicron on the back of the box. as a homage to those 1980's TF G-1 back of the box battle scenes. hasbro could even color unicron on the box art battle scene in those usa amazon.com 2011 toy colors

I wouldn't buy any Primus repaints. That thing was $50.
I think it's awesome, but it's $50. One is quite enough, thank you.

I got mine for twenty bucks, but still. I'd pass on a repaint. I like the colors on the original just fine.

When ever a better color scheme comes out for a TF toy i've owned for a while. I buy the newer better color scheme for the toy & sell the older toy with the not-desired color scheme.Ursus mellifera wrote:I wouldn't buy any Primus repaints. That thing was $50.

I never got the original, too small compared to Unicron and too pricey at a time when I was pretty broke. I also didn't love the colors they used, very tame. I might buy the repaint you describe, I like the Japanese repaint in some ways as well. But I'm not champing at the bit to get one that way.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Since I have the original, I wouldn't see much point in buying a repaint either. I skipped the G1-colored Unicron for that reason.
Still... I would like to see Primus in those colors.

That's not a bad idea. If they sold a Primus in the colors you describe, and I found it suitably cool, I might try to sell my old one in order to get the new one.Tigermegatron wrote:When ever a better color scheme comes out for a TF toy i've owned for a while. Oh man. I remember the whole Primus conversation from back in the day.JediTricks wrote:I never got the original, too small compared to Unicron and too pricey at a time when I was pretty broke. Everybody: Primus is pretty cool.
JT: I don't care for this for my own reasons, which are legit complaints about the toy that not everybody agrees with.
Some Dude: JT, your biased view of Primus is making people hate this toy!
JT: Say what now?
Everybody: Some dude, you are so fucking high.
Oh, sure. I'd like to see the mold in those colors. I just wouldn't buy it, is all.Sparky Prime wrote:Since I have the original, I wouldn't see much point in buying a repaint either. I skipped the G1-colored Unicron for that reason.

I wonder if they'll bother doing another Primus figure in the future, one that's a little bigger and more impressive standing next to Unicron. I think the Omega Lock idea probably used up some of the budget that would have otherwise gone into that size difference.
