Man, I'm kind of jealous of Mirage's haul. Nice one, man!
I'm still holding out hope that I'll find a Warpath, somehow. The last PCCs, though, I'm pretty much accepting that I'll never see them ever. Lesson here is, after the movie's over, I'm ordering most of my stuff online. Screw the hunting.
On that note, I found a nice haul on my doorstep when I returned from work this evening. "Transformers: Best of Grimlock". Yeah, it was only a matter of time before I bought this thing, right? So far, really liking it. Especially because there's only like, three stories I'd read before collected in here. Pretty solid selections that express the appeal of the character, even the Earthforce story "The 4,000,000 Year Itch" fits in nicely. May not be the "best" Grimlock story, but it works to represent Grimlock's sense of humor, which isn't something the comics really did that well. And man, for being a stock pose that's mostly shadowed, this cover really works for me. I kind of want it as a poster.

Got another package last night!
-Star Wars, the original trilogy box set. The good one that has all the original theatrical films. I think I'm just going to throw out the special edition discs. (Kidding, of course, but you know.)
-Archer season 1. It was only $10, couldn't pass it up!

And, in what will probably be my last big non-convention haul for the year......
Wheeljack, Thundercracker, Warpath and Grapple/Grappel.
My want list now consists only of the 4th and 5th wave of PCC figures, Windcharger, another Grapple and some Japanese exclusives. Ironically, I am more likely to get the Japanese exclusives.

Hah. Dumb little haul came in today. Titanium Grimlock. The 3-inch variety. I dunno, it was cheap and I thought "What the hell." Actually not too bad, decent rendition of Grimlock, only hurt by the legs being in the dippiest pose they could find for him. Still, again, cheap.

Gunsmith Cats Burst Vol. 5 came in the mail today! Woo, finally got off my ass and read through the four volumes I already had of this series, which meant it was time to get the last one. ...A bit disappointing, actually, since it ends on kind of a downer. Or at least a more somber, 'realistic' send-off than I was expecting. Particularly in the case of Misty, a character I was pretty fond of. Kinda feels like Sonada just decided he wanted to stop doing the series and didn't quite give the ending everything he had. Ah well, a sense of closure, if nothing else.
Also, Target had PCC Commanders on clearance, so I snagged Steelshot, if only because his partner's name is 'Beacon' and my friends' various WH40k jokes have conditioned me to find that word hilarious. Good thing the amusement value is there because the quality control on this thing is abysmal. The front of the vehicle mode refuses to clip together securely, and I thought I was gonna bust the chest section off trying to force it over for torso mode. Barely worth the clearance money I paid for it.
"Beakin' Strips! Necrons don't know it's not Beacon!"

My name is Onslaught Six, and I have a DVD buying problem:
-First season of Futurama. $15!
-Dark City! I've never seen this movie but heard it's neat.

There's a perfectly logical explanation for that candy wrapper, it wasn't some weird taunting thing.
Soooo, wandered into Target today, and since the PCC Commanders were clearanced, I figured "Well, fuck it, may as well buy Smolder". He's a pretty decent toy so far, nothing that special, but not too bad. Now I gotta make his combiner mode happen and see what's up. Chopster, though, that dude is bad news. Between the gatling-gun arms, the ax blades on the feet (his kicks would be amazing) and the mini-artillery emplacement he makes on Smolder's vehicle mode, I figure he's a bad little mofo.
Also, totally dumb note. I'd read Smolder's bio before, of course, but today's the first day I'd read his stats and found out he's actually a pretty smart guy. So he's got all these revenge plans, and is clever enough that he might be able to make 'em work? That makes me like the character a little more.

In what must surely be my last non-movie haul for a while, I got my Windcharger wave from FunPub. It was tucked under my welcome mat yesterday when we got home. Wasn't expecting it for a while (the ship date was mid-May, I think) so it was a nice surprise.
Windcharger - he's a mini god! A nice, solid little figure. Everything he needs to be, nothing he doesn't. He's actually a very deep red, sort of the weird swirly sparkly plastic they use occasionally. And the flip-out magnets are fun, but could just as easily be flip-out cannons if you didn't know any better. We need more scout-class cars, I really dig this size for cars for some reason.
Yeah, I bit the bullet, and yeah, I may eventually regret it. And yeah, I'm stuck with five figures I didn't necessarily want. And yeah, I think he'll make his way out eventually, maybe at Gordman's or TJMaxx for half retail price. But that's just such a crap shoot... at least now, I don't have to worry about him. I guess the bigger question is what is Hasbro going to do about this? They're going to have to address this problem eventually. Hell, I'm sure it'll be brought up at Botcon early and often. The question is, are they going to give Windcharger (and Rumble, for that matter, remember him?) a proper release down the line, or is it going to be more a case of "Yeah... sorry about those guys, we're going to try to fix the distribution problems... Well, here's your Tailgate and Frenzy, they'll be shipped in a case of just THEM, and sold at every major retailer in droves-- enjoy!"

Heh, never doubt Hasbro's ability to solve a problem by introducing an entirely new one. "Couldn't get Deluxe Bumblebee in the 2007 Movie line? Don't worry, we'll release different repaints/retools of that mold ad infintium in every line from now on! Problem solved!" "Couldn't get those last few Animated molds out at retail? We'll release just the Deluxes as exclusives to a chain notorious for jacking up the prices on such things, in an assortment where half the first wave shelfwarms and prevents the second wave from coming in! Good thing that aforementioned chain never clearances anything, ever!" "Sorry about letting FunPub do Thundercracker as an exclusive four years ago! Here's a new, mass-release Thundercracker! Except by 'mass-release' we actually mean 'no stores are ordering this wave because we released it at the end of the line when they're all sitting on stock waiting for DOTM stuff'. Good luck, fuckers!".
Yozakura Quartet DVD set came in from Amazon. I remembered a while back just how much I loved Yozakura Quartet, so I checked out the OVA and enjoyed that, then got pissed when I found out they're up to like Volume 11 of the Manga in Japan, and Del Rey still hasn't brought out anything past 5 over here. So this is the TV series on DVD, which apparently deviates a bit from the source material. I think I'll wait to check it out til the week of the 16th, when I'll be quarantined in my house for a week for radiation therapy. I'm gonna need all the stuff to watch I can get.
