April Hauls

Post by Shockwave »

Wow, no April hauls thread yet?

Ok, I'll start: Birthday hauls! Had a get together on the 2nd and one of my friends got me the Lego Star Wars X-Wing. It's freakin awesome and comes with like 6 minifigs. Also got 30$ from the Grandparents. I know it's not much but hey, it's been a good one so far. Also, my other friend finally brought over the Cobra Terrordrome that he'd been holding onto for me for like the last year.

Apparently nobody bought anything yet?

OH FUCK I just realized, Friday I bought Batman: TAS season 1 so I totally could have started the thread. Motherfucker.

Lego Star Wars Tie Interceptor. Saw this on the back of the Xwing box and since it's my favorite SW ship, I had to get one. And it's awesome.

Wandered into Taget hoping to find Wreck-Gar, but that wasn't happening. However, I did find muthafuggin' PCC Sledge! Kind of blows my mind, I'd given up on finding this guy in stores.

Got my RTS Strafe from Hasbrotoyshop today. He's quite awesome. I really dig the giant Autobot symbol stretched across his wings (even though it totally negates the whole rub-sign thing, but that's been redundant for a while). The color scheme really brings to life a mold that was previously dark n' scary, and makes it believable as a heroic character. Of course, the one drawback (besides the head not looking remotely Strafe-like, but oh well) is the stabby daggers. Not only is Strafe not the type of guy to sneak around and stab someone in the back, he's explicitly a GUN guy. However, I solved this problem by giving him the hand weapons of Energon Rodimus and Checkpoint. They're big, orange, sort of pointy (okay, those are flames) and have a standard 5mm peg. This allows them to mount atop his vehicle mode in the docking holes meant for... what, Sunspot? Screw that, he's a Decepticon! Not the greatest planning there, guys! Anyway, they can mount on the front of his shoulders in robot mode as well, giving the impression that he's *kinda* holding them. Or, as I have them now, they can rotate upward, to emulate G1 Strafe even better. Overall, I'd say he's a pretty underrated figure and I recommend. But then I love Mindwipe too, so...
I disappear.

Some Classics/Henkei/Fansproject stuff came in today: Ultra Magnus Skywarp 2 pack. Now I can review all versions of the 84 seekers in their classics mold. And I'm hoping at some point to track down a City Commander set for less than 300.00. It could happen. G3 Trailer. Man this thing comes with loads of extras. It's crazy detailed and comes with a lot of features and accessories. The perfect trailer for a Classics Prime. Henkei Minibots Wheelie, Warpath and Cosmos. Cause I needed Warpath and Cosmos.

I bought Rarity for a trifecta of reasons: 1. I felt I should at least give Hasbro a little money for actual Pony toys to show my support for the show, 2. I really wanted a Rarity toy with proper hair colors since she's moved increasingly up on my Favorite Characters list as the series has gone on, and 3. THERE IS NOTHING ELSE OUT HERE!! I saw that Target had PCC 5-packs marked down to $10 dollars again and I seriously considered spending money on the Protectobots, but decided Rarity was a better investment. She has so much freaking hair! I have no idea what I'm going to do with it!

Found Kup and Scourge! And a terrible-looking ROTF colouring book that was $2, so of course I had to have that.

I don't know if I've bought anything else recently.
