Wreck-Gar!

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

That's another figure I wanted! Plus it definitely makes more sense than Reflector.

I don't really get Laser Prime, I don't see the point. Maybe because I have RID Scourge? Maybe because I prefer Powermaster Prime? Maybe because it reminds me a little of Armada dlx Prime? Whatever it is, I'm not going "wow" over this figure yet.
And a big "Word" on the love for Powermaster Prime. Man, I'd love to see a reimagined Powermaster Prime come out of Generations.
^this^ If for no other reason than to get a Prime with a damn trailer.

I don't get why Hasbro isn't making any trailers, do they think it would up the cost so much of a Prime figure people won't buy them? We have third party companies selling trailers and as far as I understand they sell. Of course people would buy a trailer made by Hasbro. Why is it that they appear not to see that?

Sydew, see the round 14 Q&A thread for more details. Ask the others, I've been annoyed by this for years. Course, I also have issues with Black Optimus Primes and White Optimus Primes (not Ultra Magnuses, White Optimi, there's a difference).

But what I wonder is, what do they think can be improved on from the original? Because while he's not crazy-articulated, the original is a damn fine hunk of toy. I get that the chest windows aren't a cheat on this version, but the "cheaty" part of that transformation never really bothered me.
They could make him crazy articulated. Mid-thigh swivels, maybe. Wrists would be cool. I hope he has a gun, too, and not just a sword.

I'd buy him and make him Ginrai. Or, hell, I might even import a Japanese release.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Well, maybe, but they've got the Legends Trailbreaker (well, "Trailcutter") coming out, so that might be what you're thinking of.

Maybe they're doing both?

Fans buying trailers is not the same as Target or Wal*Mart having confidence that the general public will buy a large and expensive trailer for a kid's toy. And, make no mistake, the MP figres are sold in the toy aisle.

I do agree that it is annoying though.

(This pretty much decided it for me though. I am skipping the US release. If I can afford a Japanese figure, i will get that. However, this is unlikely.)

I wonder what's happened to the "Trailbreaker" name? Unable to copyright, or someone else have it?

It'll be nice to have a new version of the character, regardless. Anyone get the repaint of RID Ironhide with the truck mode painted in Trailbreaker's color scheme? Very nice, and it showed that someone at Hasbro hadn't forgotten the character.

I think there's a real truck with that name, or at least a name that's similar enough. If I recall right, that was the reason Cybertron Overhaul wasn't named "Trailbreaker".

I know there's a "Trailblazer" on the market. Maybe Trailbreaker was too close for comfort.

That's what I reckon.

You'd think with something like that, someone would've seen an opportunity for cross-promotion with the Alternators line, but nooooo....
