Dunno if I mentioned this, but I actually found the MOTUC/DC two pack with Sratos and Hawkman. I could care less about Hawkman but Stratos was nifty and if nothing else makes a good Avion Warrior to go with my other Stratos. And his wings are fixed.

The wings are attached to what used to be bracelets on Beast Man. Those "bracelets" are supposed to swivel on Stratos so that you can pose the wings on the sides of his arms. On the original one they are glued in place and unable to move, on the two pack they function like they're supposed to.

Also, on/near my birthday bought Tron and Tron II: Electronics Boogaloo. And today, my Imperial Sith bathrobe from thinkgeek came in. Comfy and geeky. Living the dream.

Edit: And also a belt. So that it will A: fit properly and 2) I can finally start wearing that Decepticon belt buckle.

Made a pledge to my local NPR station. So I'll be getting a snazzy t-shirt on an installment plan of ten bucks a month. Still, worth it.

Also, finally got my copy of "Write More Good", a fake writing style guide by the guys behind the @FakeAPStylebook twitter feed. Yeah, book of a twitter thing, but they actually wrote all-new material for the book, and a lot of the people that wrote it are comics bloggers whose work I've enjoyed thoroughly for awhile now. So I figure I'll throw my moneys to support those guys.

And on Thursday received the United Ehobby 3 packs. The Decepticons set is damn beautiful with all three of them being clear. The Autobot set I kind of don't get. I thought the point was to make these molds in clear, but two of these are not . The Junkion is nice and I'm actually kind of glad that he's not clear. I was expecting a clear Wreck Gar with a new head, but no, this is straight up Junkion. Kup is painted in his G1 colors. Hot Rod is entirely clear blue. Not really sure why. It looks nice but I don't know any contextual reason why they would make him clear in that color (good lord, now I'm starting to sound like Dom! :o ). Maybe they just didn't want to do yet another red clear hot rod. I'm not sure I would recommend these sets at the price for anyone who doesn't just have a thing for clear plastic. I do, but that's me. The Junkion does have a different head from Wreck Gar, but I'm not sure that unto itself would warrant the price tag of this set.

Those sets actually do have contexts they're supposed to be based around, but not all clear plastic. The Decepticon trio look like that because it's supposed to be them when they're getting scanned/rebuilt by Unicron. Hot Rod's blue because it's supposed to look like when he caught the Matrix after Optimus died and he got bathed in its glowy blue light. Scrapheap's there to give you another Junkion, and Kup's...well hell I dunno. He just looks like Kup. Guess they had to fill out the set somehow. (Wait, he's got some Battle Damage. Woo.)

I do so crave that Decepticon set. If I could find it for a non-insane price, I'd probably go for it. That thing looks friggin' beautiful.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I bought some new shoes. Because my old shoes were old.

I'd be willing to part with Galvatron. It was 122 for the set which works out to 40$ per figure. Since I know you like Galvatron.

I am not parting with the Junkion. I figured the context for the Decepticons was the movie transition, but I couldn't quite get the Autobot set. Guess it sorta makes sense. Yeah, Kup has the battle damage details. It really does look nice.

I'm strangely craving that Blue Hod Rod, if you have any designs on parting with it.
I disappear.
