Transformers Animated Season 1 DVD- Price tag said $25, but it scanned for $22. Nice.

Universe Silverbolt- Yeah, broke down and got him. Silverbolt's probably my favorite of the Gestalt leaders, and this toy's better than I was expecting. Doesn't live up to everything I like about Silverbolt (You can tell that this one turns into a jet, for instance), but it's still clearly him in a lot of ways. Love the gun, and the headsculpt. And the 'dramatic head reveal' is really nice on this one; very JTF. Honestly, the transformation is the only really disappointing part, as the individual modes are great fun (good colors on his jet mode, and it's highly wooshable). So while he's not perfect, he's hardly a disappointing purchase.

I've gotten a rather hefty pile of stuff of late, couple boxes a long time in the preordering turned up. I've essentially ordered the NZ collectors' community's entire supply of Henkei Thundercrackers and Skywarps, so that's a pretty big box right there. One of each for myself, have only opened Thundy thus far. Some nice touches, but mouldwear hurts, the BotCon version's nicer in several ways.

Also the following:

- Henkei Prowl: Still suffers the paint issue, bahhh. White's a nicer shade and I love the chrome and lightbar, so worthwhile anyway.
- Henkei Sunstreaker: Completely different shade of yellow from Hasbro's, more NewBee-esque.
- Universe Legends Hound, Jazz, and G2 Megatron: Happened upon all three of these in a supermarket, of all places, weird. Jazz is underpainted and a bit tacky, but nice detailing, different transformation with a good-if-static robot mode. Hound has green wheels, yet surprised me by being a dinky wee jeep with a good transformation and a reasonably fiddly robot mode. G2 Megs is pocked-sized joy, innovative turret transform and great shade of green, clever spin on the design. I love G2, and Megatron especially, so that one's natural. Expect me to buy several more Megatrons. These three are a real step up from Legends past and have settled my fears for the upcoming releases. Need more paint, yet they're better quality.
- McAnimated Prime: A friend gave this to me while out in town. It prompted her friend to ask if I had Optimus Prime in my pocket, or if I was just pleased to see them..

Animated Soundwave. But I also made a sighting:

I keep finding excuses to go to walmart and pick up $7.77 deluxes, but the selection is pretty weak. I went the night before last and found one Soundwave and one Sentinel Prime, whom I've never ever seen before, lost amid a sea of blackarachnias and ratchets. So I kind of set those behind the others to do the rest of my shopping to decide which one I wanted, if either. When I came back Sentinel was gone, so my mind was made up for me and I grabbed Soundwave and wandered off with my basket. As I leave the aisle I passed a scrawny dude with big glasses and a ponytail. He wanders up to the TF section, surveys it, and then says "Sucks!"

I have encountered a real life TF nerd in Austin TX, operating in full nerdery. I probably took the toy he wanted, so I quickly made my way to the exit.

Oh yeah, and Soundwave is pretty cool. What's Sentinel like? He seems overly tiny

Wise; you narrowly avoided a NERRRD FIIIGHT!

Is it weird that most of us (from what I know, which is a fair bit) don't really... LOOK "nerdy"? Are we really TF fans at all?? T____T

My only haul this entire month, probably, but it is a great one:

Hokuto no Ken boxset, better-than-HeartOfMadness subs. 152 episodes of seminal manime goodness.

YOU WA SHOCK!!
COME TO TFVIEWS oh you already did

Sentinel's far smaller than he should be, but is otherwise a great toy. Really only needed bicep swivels to make him perfect. His transformation is a delight, and he's got cool accessories, and some great sculpting (head, hands). If you like Sentinel (and anyone who doesn't is a Communist), he's definitely worth picking up.

I got a new Avatar from watching way too much Masterforce last night.

Picked up Sideswipe and Silverstreak today. Got the only two they had on the pegs, no Ironhide though.

Picked up Dokken's Best Of CD the other night for seven bucks. They were touring around here a few months ago, and I mocked them, and my father was all, "Fuck you, Dokken kicks ass, listen to them," and I kept intending to. $7 for sixteen tracks, I'll bite. There's some Good stuff in it. It's all 80s hair metally with a twinge of heavier feel and complexity, but nothing too far--it's not as far from hair metal as Queensryche, for example.

Then I went back tonight to get a drink and see if Ironhide was there (He *still isn't*) when I found the Vamp with Clutch. I only really wanted Clutch, O13 and all, but I bought it. Guess now I don't have to look for a loose one if I go to Steel City Con next weekend.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

TFU Sideswipe, and I have 2 more on the mail for conversions.

Some misc 2099 comics that I pre-ordered a while back. I am planning on a large review of these.
