Agreed. MM2's Castle theme was incredible. I still recall my first reaction to seeing that dragon pop-up.

Here's hoping the music is as good as before, though. The megaman series has some good ass music.

MM2's Wily's Castle theme, anyone?

I put Crash Man's music on at a party once, and it worked. Mostly because I have silly friends.

MM2's music is the bee's balls (that's good). But there are a few stand-out others... Like Shadow Man's, from MM3 (more bands need to cover this), Dust Man's, from MM4, MM7's ending music...

And don't get me started on the X series' music! It was so damn METAAALLLL!

MMX is one of those games (and this is rare for me) where I know where *everything* is, how the baddies move, hitboxes, invincibility frames, all that shizzle. I can actually complete it without dying, on my crappy old SNES pad. Makes up for when people smack me around on Kirby's Dream Course or Mortal Kombat.

There's alternatives to Regular MSN, though--Pidgin and aMSN are two of them.

I know most of the ins and outs of MMX too. It was actually really hard for me to beat the first time, though, because--unlike MM2--I couldn't just arbitrarily choose some guys and mostly beat them. With MM2, I actually start with Wood Man, then Air Man and then Crash Man. Wood Man's got a relatively easy stage and you can beat him with the P--and the Wood Shield is great in Crash Man's stage.

Huh, I had no idea of MSN alternatives. I'll check 'em out.

Man, I couldn't dream of starting with Wood Man; gotta save his stage's music for last, and finishing him with a single Atomic Fire is just too good. Plus, I need the Metal Blade FIRST. o___o

*Won't ever not be looking forward to MM9, and really hopes there's an MM10, if only to show up the 'X = 10' folk*

The "Mega Man" series seemed to have lost its way around game 5 or 6 of the original series, and 3 of "X". (If X=10, then apparently X3 is 1,000.)

In MM2:

Flashman
Airman
Crashman (w/Air)
Quickman (w/ Flash and Air)
Metalman
Bubbleman (w/Quic k or Metal or Crash)
Heatman (w/Bubble)
Woodman (Heatman)

You STARTED with Flash Man?? Legend.

I can't even be bothered trying to jump over the guy. But I do like his stage.

The trick with Flashman was to keep moving and shooting. As soon as you got hit, you would be knocked back into normal timed movement. If you had shots in the air, and he froze them, they would still damage him

The stage was easy, and had a few power-ups that were useful on later ones.

I love Quick Man's stage. CHEESTRINGS OF INSTANT DEATH! And those fire-headed enemies, who light up the stage as you get close, and it gets dark when you kill 'em. Cool.

For years I was able to get past Quick Man's stage without dying from those lasers, but then I went through it recently and 'could not do it.' I dunno why. Finally had to break down and use the Flash Stopper. Good thing those giant bunny mechs occasionally give ammo.
