Chaos preview

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Chaos preview

Post by Dominic »

Here is a link to an article on the AllSpark.

And, here is evidence that IDW is actively seeking to deter me from buying their books.

"Deceptigod?" Oh lord.

In its defence, "Deceptigod" doesn't seem to be canon. Just a convenient turn of phrase on the author's part.

...But as if to pre-emptively demolish my defence, they do use it like *twice* in that article.

Now THIS seems like really typical TF fanfic.

I do not care what they call it.

It is the stupidest thing in TF ever.

"The House That Wheeljack Built" is brilliant compared to this. The most hilarious mis-translations of the UT, ("this ship is named after my mother...."), are rough spots on otherwise brilliant screen-plays.

I want Furman back. On Beast Wars. Now.

I mean it.

My (Decepti)god.

This had better be a work. Yeah, that is it. IDW is working us. There is no way that the ongoing is going to end with an idea similar to one that I came up with years ago while half-asleep and was immediately glad would never actually be taken up by an official source.

It is not even consistent with what they had Abnett writing in "Heart of Darkness".

Who the hell greenlit this?

And they're killing Optimus *AGAIN*. Because that's never been done 3 times already in IDW's books. *snort* Seriously, can't they find any better use for him than killing him every other 10th issue?

And then there's "Decepti-God". Yeah. They really ran out of ideas.

So Galvatron creates an army of Sweeps.... that come together to form "Deceptigod"? Really? Why do I get the feeling that's just something they came up with so Metroplex could fight something on his own scale, with out using Trypticon?

And "The Death of Optimus Prime"? Not very original...

What's profoundly dumb about this is that Galvatron isn't even a Decepticon.

I'm glad I got out when I did.

I will say one thing for this Deceptigod......

He has really brought us together as a forum.
I'm glad I got out when I did.
And, who could blame you.

So Galvatron creates an army of Sweeps.... that come together to form "Deceptigod"? Really?
Really? What?

Don't what me.

What?

And then there's "Decepti-God". Yeah.

And they're killing Optimus *AGAIN*. Because that's never been done 3 times already in IDW's books.
Lessee, "Escalation", "All Hail Megatron" and....?

Either way, in "Escalation", it was clear he was coming back in the next issue. It was more of a serious injury. Ditto for AHM. IDW did not present either as "oh yeah, we mean it". In this case, IDW admits that this is not going to stick, more or less in the same breath that they say how important it is.....

This also has me glad that I'm out of comics.
Seriously, chuck your comics and re-start a modest toy collection.

And, in case anybody has figured it out, this is the first time we have all agreed about a comic in....possibly ever. Sparky, Mako, O6, myself. Where the hell is Prowl? We need to get him in on this.

IDW might be working us. This might also be another case of them making me think it is going to be horrible, and then suprising me. (Remember my initial impression of the ongoing?) But....I doubt it.

At this point, my priority is to pack up Sunstreaker and Drift before the next issue comes out. Seriously, I do not want those toys ruined by association.

Well, better enjoy "Last Story on Earth" while we can.....
