IDW TF G-1 on-going comics don't come out every 2 weeks.

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

So the one book being a week later oughtn't be that big a deal, then?
It was kinda a big deal because I plan my gasoline mileage around making the comic book store visit worth my gas fees. I try to go once a month & grab 2 TF comic issues. so getting one issue made my wasted gas prices seem more wasteful.

As I noted,my nearest comic book store is 26 miles away one way & 52 miles away round trip.
Damn dude, that's a long way to go for comics. If my nearest shop was that far away, I'd probably.... still drive, who am I kidding? But it definitely wouldn't be as often. Mine's maybe... 10 miles? Ish? I dunno. Not far enough out of my way to deter me from going fairly frequently. I have about a half hour freeway drive from my work to my house and it's one that route so it's really not that out of the way.

Well, perhaps you should try crying a little harder about being mildly inconvenienced. I find this often helps.

I have about an equal drive; maybe even more. And I don't mind it because it's in State College which also has the nearest Chick-fil-A around here. And I fucking love Chick-fil-A so it's like a whole trip kind of thing.

Plus at this point I just go over there to buy old trades and Mega Man. (By the way, next month is the start of the next arc so it'd be a good time to latch on. Just saying.)

Damn it, I knew there was something else I was looking for at the comic shop this week but couldn't remember! And wound up getting the Ultimate books instead. Used up the rest of my store credit too. Oh well, I'm gonna stop by there tomorrow to see if they have MODOK'S 11 so I'll probably see if they have Mega Man while I'm at it.

Come to think of it, I need more Mega Man games. I have 1-3 on the original Nintendo and that's it. I've played X and X2 but other than that, my Mega Man playing has been lacking. And the figures they have at Toys R Us look pretty sweet too.

I ended up not getting it when I went into town yesterday; comic shop closes at 5 on Sundays and I ended up there at 5:10. Damn. Next week, I guess.

4-6 aren't the best, IMO. I 'love' X1 and once blew through X2 without a walkthrough and had to find everything. (I had no internet at the time.) X3 ended up being really ridiculously hard with its extra bosses (At least, I'm pretty sure that was the first game with the X-Hunters) so I never finished it. Mega Man 7, 8 and MM&Bass are weird with their whole "branching path" level select design that really just serves to suck butt.

If you can, though, definitely download Mega Man 9. I can't speak for Mega Man 10 but I thoroughly loved everything about MM9, from its boss designs to its levels to its 'awesome' music. Splash Woman! Tornado Man! Jewel Man! Fuck those songs are awesome. MM9 was a real return to form. I'd assume MM10 continues in the same vein; it's a shame Inafune's gone, so we might never see a Mega Man 11.

X2 had the X Hunters. X3's hidden bosses were the Nightmare Police and Vava Mk-II.

Huh, well that's weird. I distinctly remember giving up on X3 because of the X-Hunters. Weird! Maybe I just got frustrated with them in X2. I know I did beat them though because I 100%'d the game.

Maybe some magazine (or just you) started using "X Hunters" as a genericised term for all hidden bosses. Which is silly.

It always bothered me that they called the Counter Hunters "X Hunters" in the western version. They don't give a toss about X. They exist only to resurrect Zero and use him against the Maverick Hunters. ...Not as much as the translation of their individual names bothered me ("SERGES"?!), but still.

Aaaanyway.

It was the 90s, man. Anywhere they could stick the letter X, they did.

I am as much for blaiming Diamond for all comic related problems as anybody else. But, I am pretty sure that last week was a planned skip. They just front loaded the 5th week laziness. And, yeah, they could have just published every two weeks. It would not have killed them.
