Oh yeah Nimoy is in this
It's on the front page of our site so I presume everyone saw it. Nimoy is voicing Sentinel Prime. Not sure if like! After all, I kind of wished he'd voiced The Fallen last movie.

Re: Oh yeah Nimoy is in this
I guess when you're related to the director via marriage AND your soul is owned by the studio, it's not terribly difficult to get the work.
Tony Todd in the last movie was nigh-unrecognizable, so I suspect either they'll over-process Nimoy into genericness, or he'll simply have very few lines.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Can't say I'm unhappy about it. I mean, I kinda wish they'd somehow made him a version of Galvatron, since Nimoy is and always will be Galvatron to me, but him as Sentinel Prime might be cool. Unless, of course, like JT said, the over-process his voice. Fingers crossed!

Re: Oh yeah Nimoy is in this
I actually hope they don't over process his voice. I think they kind of did that originally with Galvatron. Speaking of which, was that really the best they could match him in the cartoon? I mean, S3 Galvy didn't sound anything like Nimoy. He was a high pitched screetcher that yelled everything. ugh. Like Nimoy's voice better but always hard to imagine it for Galvatron.

Re: Oh yeah Nimoy is in this
Are you implying that they hired Nimoy to try and match up to Welker's S3 performance?
Also remember, that was Crazy Post-Lava Bath Galvatron. It's implied that that messed with his voice, too.

I think I was trying to imply that Welker should have tried to match Nimoy's voice. But hey, if the lava bath was supposed to have messed it up, then... um... y'ok.

Welker once voiced Spock, in Star Trek III he was Spock yelling as the Genesis effect ravaged his reborn body. So it's um... fair?

Holy crap, I just caught this now. I did not realize at all that the damn Candyman was the Fallen. I don't have a problem with some voice-synthesizing work, but dang, when you've got a voice like that working for you, y'oughtta let the man work.JediTricks wrote: Tony Todd in the last movie was nigh-unrecognizable, so I suspect either they'll over-process Nimoy into genericness, or he'll simply have very few lines.
Further ironic amusement: Todd's voice was over-processed, yet Welker's Soundwave voice didn't get any voice-processing (unless I'm not remembering the ROTF right). Good choices, Mikey B. Good choices indeed.

Pure win situation...? As long as he gives it more gusto than his TFTM performance, fair enough, but I distinctly recall him really not giving a crap about the Galvatron role. Plus I just don't think the guy's a voice actor, and for me, Transformers was always the best platform for some of the industry's best *voice actors*, not just famous-guy-cameos. But hey, at least Billy Crystal, Anna Paquin and Patrick Stewart aren't in it.
