Yeah, I'd have to agree with you, Guy or John seems the more likely of the four. Especially in Guy's case, he did mention in the aftermath of Blackest Night that if he did his current mission, that he and Hal wouldn't be friends anymore. And besides Hal he's the only one with some experience with another ring, and is still 'inflected' with some Red Lantern blood as a result.andersonh1 wrote:So who's no longer going to be a Green Lantern? Comics are awesome.

Well, apparently, old is comforting. (This is, as you may have guessed, my biggest gripe about comics in general.)

Pretty much all of the Green Lanterns are going to be at odds with each other. Not hard to see that some friends will end up on opposite sides with this story.Dominic wrote:So, Hal and Guy are going to be at odds...again.

But, in this case, it seems like a huge step backwards because Hal and Guy have been at odds before.
Of course, at least your comic is coming out. ("Batman Inc" #3 is coming out nearly a month late because Grant Morrison is too good to meet his deadlines.)

Yeah, the odds are on him. Though with the Guardians wanting to charge Hal with treason, he could be in trouble too. But after all the trouble and buildup to bring him back, ditching him again would be an odd move.Sparky Prime wrote:Yeah, I'd have to agree with you, Guy or John seems the more likely of the four. I don't really like the fact that Hal and Guy will be at odds again, and I hope it's only temporary. Like Dom says, they beat that rivalry into the ground back in the 90s. I like the fact that both had matured enough to be friends, and that Guy isn't the jerk he used to be. I hope this isn't a huge step backwards. We'll see.

I don't see any point in judging it either way when we don't know what the circumstances of the story will be yet. But I can't see it being a step backwards simply for Guy and Hal to be at odds. Guy is known for doing what it takes to get a job done, even if that means it'll put him at odds with others. That's part of what makes Guy the character he is.
Re: Comics are awesome.
Yeah, what Sparky said! Also, how do we know it won't just turn into a giant GL free for all with everyone being on their own separate sides?
Shockwave
-would actually be down for the GL free for all.

Bought a pile of comics this week. Only read TF, (reviewed in the appropriate thread), and....
New Avengers #10:
More "stylized superheroes with Bendis" this issue. As it turns out, (in standard retcon fashion), the Avengers that were assembled as a result of Loki's trickery were not the first team to use the name. Nick Fury and James Duggan assembled a team of superhumans in the 1950s to fight the Red Skull. I am sure this will all come together in the next issue or two. Bendis might pull something out of his hat. But, for the most part, this looks to be a riff on the genre, albeit one less obnoxious than riffing normally would be.
