Actually, the crossover presence might even be the retailers. They might think "Oh, yellow-box is the Movie Line which sells like hookers in a virgin factory, give us more of that," and Hasbro's all, "Well, here's some toys! They're in movie packaging!" and Wal-Mart's all "Fuck it that'll work!"

Remember those Cybertron repaints in Movie packaging, even though they were planned for Universe? Yeah, exactly.

You don't sell things in a factory, you just make them. Anyway, no TF line seems to be moving that great right now, certainly not enough to use crossover power to carry it. I think Hasbro just ran the mainline aground of new sculpts a while back and needed filler to keep its SKU on shelves. Retail buyers aren't suckers, they know when a line has too many repaints for their customers to find interest in.

Those UT recolors make me crazy. Are they movie or not? The packages say "movie", but the toys say "not movie".

Oh, that's what's causing it? They aren't until some comics writer is pushed into a corner needing to use SOMEONE in a story and just reaches for them. And as long as you get played by crap like that, you are their sucker.

Though, maybe like Shockwave, I would find it kind of hilarious if it was a WFC 'Cracker. I'd be okay with a new-styled Seeker mold, and not having a non-Action Master Thundercracker would be worth it to me just to hear the maelstrom of bitching that would ensue.
