Oh yeah. I don't mind it in comics, but for some Geewunny reason I don't like it in his bio. I'm wierd.

Nah, I'm sure they just wanted to use this as an opportunity to rewrite things for the future. And I wouldn't really call these the worst bios ever. Sure, there's some odd new bits, but it's not like I'm going ARGH CHILDHOOD RAPE or anything.

The bios themselves I'm not wild about, but they aren't horrible. I'm more thinking of just the bio quotes..."Soundwave superior, other Decepticons inferior" "I do everything with style"...I'm just saying if that's the best they can do, they should have maybe gone ahead and left the old ones.

See, one of my favorite bits with Shockwave is towards the end of Maximum Dinobots, when he makes Grimlock *think* he's gone all irrational endgame Furman rage on him, when in reality he's thinking just as clearly as usual, and was simply using the irrationality as a distraction to give himself time. That's probably my favorite way to characterize Shockwave: He doesn't ignore his emotions, he simply adds them to the equation where they're applicable and continues from there.

Man, has Shockwave ever gone toe-to-toe with Prowl? That would seem kind of obvious.

I don't think they have. Maybe in the 2nd DW volume is probably about the closest that I can recall, but other than that. That would be so cool though.

The bio brings in the fanon that when Rampage dies, Dinobot's spark somehow connects with the now-whole Rampage spark in Dinobot II and that's why everything works out the way it does. It's iffy but it's the easiest explanation.

How is the bio anything new? Megatron and Dinobot actually say that's what happens in the episode. Dinobot is a surprising result, I just assumed the 5th one would be someone else from G1.

Aw, what's wrong with Dinobot? He's reasonably iconic, pretty popular (obviously), and did some rather important stuff in his continuity. His presence makes sense, and I'm especially happy that someone from BW made it in, instead of *another* guy from 1984.

You know what's fun? Not hating popular things just because they're popular.

Sure, why not. I can't think of a Beast Wars guy that would fit better in here except maybe for Megatron.

I'm still voting Grimlock, though.

Dinobot's not a bad choice. I'd rank Soundwave and Grimlock ahead of him, but he's probably the best character to come out of Beast Wars. And Beast Wars could certainly use a representative character in the Hall of Fame.

I am not saying Dinobot is a bad character. But, part of me is sceptical about how valid this one is. So, has anyone counted up the votes from here and the other forums to see just how many votes Dinobot would have gotten. Do we really think Dinobot beat characters like Prowl or Mirage?

I am no GeeWunner. But, would Dinobot legitimately make it on to a list where Soundwave made such a good showing?

Aside from the quote, the bio itself is awful. I found it confusing, despite being familiar with the source material.

That said, the explanation for what happened in "Nemesis part 2" is more or less what the bio lists, aside from one thing.

When Rampage died in part 1, there is assumed, (based on comments by Forward and DiTillio), that a bridge opened up between the after life and the world of the living, giving the original Dinobot the chance to possess the clone. (Remember, the fanon is in assuming that "Dark Glass" counts, despite it never being produced and the script being locked away. Yes, I know there are leaked copies. But, those do not officially count.)

The problem lies in how the bio describes Rampage's spark. The general assumption was always that the original Dinobot's spark completed the clone's spark, not that Rampage's full spark completed the clone's spark. If nothing else, why would a being completed by the spark of somebody like Rampage be so heroic?
