Which supreme sized TF toys,do you rate as great & awful

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

Which supreme sized TF toys,do you rate as great & awful

Post by Tigermegatron »

Which Supreme sized Transformers were awful & which were amazing. which were mediocre? which were barely okay?

Here's my quick 2 cents:

Supreme Beastmachines cheetor was just pure awful. my favorite mode was the beast mode. once it gets into robot mode then it's downhill & just awful. the toy was oversized by about 70%. some of the gimmicks ruined some poseabilty in the limbs. the over all design looked like a human skeleton. not fond of putting human dentist approved perfect teeth inside of a robot head's mouth.

Supreme sized Beastmachines/Rid air attack Optimus Primal. the best part about this toy is hearing the iconic gary chalk voice actor voice chip. the toy is pretty decent in both modes. I actually like this toy. Optimus Primal in my opinion got more awful toys than decent toys in Beastwars & Beastmachines.
this Supreme BM/RID Opimus primal toy is one of the decent ones. the supreme toy appears to have a somewhat decent transformation. is highly detailed & is just beutifully sculpted in both modes.

Supreme sized Armada Unicron. What a beautiful toy mold easily the best of all the supreme sized transformers toys. this toy was well worth the wait. this toy is easily the most super poseable & most adult looking of all Supreme sized TF toys. I like the sleekness & high sculpt this toy features. the light up hand & eyes mix well with G-1.

Supreme sized unicron has received plenty of repaints & remolds. i'm not a fan of the energon black unicron because the whole point behind unicron is his iconic orange colors. the amazon.com hasbro 2011 colors dare I say are the worst of them all. I really wish I had the money to get the Takara 2010 unicron colors as I view this as the best of them all. the armada unicron colors is my second favorite color scheme sans the purple.

Energon Omega supreme. I don't like this toy at all. It's just a awful toy. if anyones seen the 1980's centurion cartoon episodes. this energon omega supreme toy looks like that centurions episode where doc terror & hacker's cyborg parts merge to form a sentinet robot. the over all energon supreme sized omega toy looks like 2 tonka play school designed toys made of super thick plastic. I'm just not a fan of the alt modes nor the robot mode. the toy looks like it has FORCED articulation. It's definately a toddler friendly toy.

Cybertron Supreme sized PLanet Primus. it's a spectaular toy that looks like it was created & catered towards adults. it pulls off a better looking planet mode than unicron. it transforms without needing parts coming off to transform like armada unicron needs toys. sadly Primus lacks the super poseability that unicron has. the primus toy is a bit shorter but more stable on display shelves than unicron is. the gimmicks of primus seem less kiddie compared to unicrons chest missle gimmicks.

Supreme sized Cybertron Starscream toy. apparently Hasbro can't blow up/expand/increase TF toys properly as the proportions are was off & look fat & short in most spots. the voyager sized starscream toy was more sleek. hasbro chose to beef up certain body parts for the increased supreme sized version. like the forearms & other parts. personally it's not a bad toy,it does look decent in both modes. and the toy has a reason to be huge as it did grow in the cybertron cartoon series. I'd give this toy a MEDIOCRE ratting.

Animated Supreme sized Optimus Prime. this toy is complete garbage/awful. this appears to be catered towards the kids/toddlers. the toy gets minuses for having that weird designed waiste plate in both modes that just furter ruin a already awful design. The toy sculpt/engineering was literally ruined by it's auto-transform gimmick.

ROTF Supreme/ultimate sized Devestator. This toy is complete garbage. what ruins this toy for me is the piss poor engineering in gestalt combiner mode. one has to literally sit their for a extended period & keep adjusting the legs & hips so the toy doesn't fall apart due to the weird ape/gorilla devestator hunch back thing the designers created for the gestalt mode. another thing I hate about the toy is the fact the individual alt modes look like six super thick & super heavy plastic playschool tonka vechicles toys. from a huge distance away, the toy does look visally decent. however the toy can't use any of it's poseabilty due to it not having a stable display robot mode. the toy also does lack some poseability in robot mode. Over-all I'd give this toy a "F" score,F is for Fail & not the other word.

The Movie verse Ultimate/supreme Bumblebee toys. I'm not a fan of over sized Transformers toys. movie verse bumblebee should be no bigger than deluxe size. with the acceptable $29.99 HA voyager size as it's only 1.5 inches more. At the very least they could have appealed to model cars buyers by putting realistic interior car seats inside the car, a steering wheel,a dash board,a shifter & back rear view mirror inside the front winshield. the ultimate version looked kinda fat in both modes, with too many kiddie gimmicks.
the Rotf New face mask did look better on the ultimate mode. the Rotf new mold toy selling for $59.99 was a bit better looking than the ultimate version but it was still awful, over sized & had it's share of flaws.

I've only got a few of these, mostly bought on sale or discount since they're usually a little pricey.

BMac Cheetor - Got this one for $10 with free shipping from Amazon about 10 years ago... I figure they were desperate to be rid of them. I like the sculpt quite a bit in both modes. The toy looks good, but it's got a couple of flaws. Both robot mode arms are hampered by the gimmick. The missle-launching arm can only bend so far due to the missile launch action, and the other with the extending claw has to be kept bent all the time or else the claws always stay out. The waist/chest cover always pops off, and the whole toy is top-heavy with spindly legs. I can get it to stand, but not with the legs extended.

I'm not going to call this a bad toy. It's novel, certainly, and not without merit. But it's got serious flaws too.

Armada Unicron - I love this toy. The planet mode is less than convincing and the rings and shell pieces create problems, but it's big and posable and great fun. One of my favorite big figures. Happily paid full price... went right out to the store and paid $50 for Armada Unicron.

Cybertron Starscream - Very simple transformation, it's essentially the Legends version scaled up. It's simplicity makes it work. Easy to transform, very posable and stable. The only real problem is that the elbows often pop loose when trying to bend the arms, and the outer wings tend to pop loose. Paid $25 for this on clearance.

Primus - another full price figure from Target. The planet mode is perfect this time, even though the scale of the cities and spikes is way off. Regardless, the sheer amount of sculpted detail on this figure is wonderful, and the transformation from planet to robot leaves a backpack, but is otherwise not at all bad. The resulting robot looks a little small for a Supreme class figure though.

Can I throw in Fortress Maximus here? I have the Korean version of the RID re-release, which is missing a lot of the extra components from the first two releases. Huge and very stable, though without much posability, this guy can be a city for mini-cons and legends class figures very easily. With all sorts of unfolding cannons and very firm ratchet joints, it's not going to fall over either. The most expensive Transformer I think I've ever bought, paid $116 from some online store about 9 years ago. Well worth it.
