IDW TF comic 125 will it be the last, then furman does #82

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

IDW TF comic 125 will it be the last, then furman does #82

Post by Tigermegatron »

Anyone else think #125 will be the last IDW TF on-going issue in december, then simon wil do his Issue #82 marvel contination series under the IDW company in january 2011 & on-ward each passing month.

Please don't read further if you don't want to get sploiled by seeing spoilers.

Starting in July the IDW TF On-going will be 2 issues per month till December 2011.

Their is a multi parter in the on-going called "last story on earth"
what does this mean & why does it sound so final.

I'm getting the feeling the current IDW TF G-1 on-going comic is going to wrap up & end in december with issue #125.

Why is IDW going out of their way to list the TF G-1 on-going with issue #125. most on-line fans have guessed that 125 means. all the accumlated G-1 related IDW TF comic issues since IDW took over from DW.
Counting all the G-1 reboots, all the stand alone spot light issues, counting the on-going. and anything else that tied directly into the IDW TF G-1 comic universe.

My solid guess is the IDW TF G-1 on-going universe story will end in december 2011 with issues #125.

Then Simon furman will step in & do his #82 Marvel comic contination story for IDW. which will replace the former IDW TF G-1 on-going series.

My guess is Hasbro might have stepped in & contacted IDW & requested that simon furman write the G-1 comic for IDW. since Hasbro has built a relationship with simon furman for over 25 years already.

My solid guess is the movie verse comics will end in 2012 for IDW TF comics. this would place simon furman with no main comic for TF IDW.
So simon furman will be free to write the contination #82 TF G-1 comic for IDW in 2012.

As most know IDW is currently doing a marvel comics G.I Joe continations story comic series under the IDW company.

THESE ARE ALL RANDOM GUESSES OF MINE. I don't claim any of them as facts, nor do I claim to have any advanced info nor contact.
As a veteran TF fan since 1987,Sometimes stuff can get easy predicatble & easy to guess. since we do see the same cycles repeast themselves over & over.

please post your thought on this.

There was an interview with Chris Ryall that addressed what'll happen after #125...
You mentioned “Transformers” briefly, and there was an announcement that those series will be released digitally, and of course you’re going biweekly through the end of the year. Is all set to coincide with the new movie?

No, we did a couple prequels that lead into the movie, but this is all just our ongoing “Transformers” universe stuff. This was all put into place by [former editor] Andy Schmidt, before he left a few weeks ago. But it’s basically building to big event called “Chaos,” which is the biweekly thing we’re doing through the end of the year, and then out of that is a relaunch of two new “Transformers” titles, and there’s very important reasons in the Transformers universe why these titles are becoming two, how they’re splitting and what’s going to happen from there. It’s a big that’s sort of rocking the whole Transformers status quo and shaking things up to a big degree. You know, I pay a lot of attention to the Transformers message boards, you see all levels of support and grousing. I think a lot of people who have been grousing about feeling things are going too slow, or not happy with the way things are going this way or that, they’re all going to be very happy with where things are heading, because it’s very much in line with what people are saying that they want but also in a way that they’re not going to see coming. It’s a really nice place where Andy left “Transformers,” I think it’s a really solid direction, and some new creators are coming in that are really going to give it some life that I’ve been wanting to see in there.
So they wont be ending the IDW G1verse, just relaunching the storyline (again), as two titles and a new status quo.

Don't *do* that! ><

Anyway, I put little stock in before-the-fact interviews, and would have to be seriously impressed to be convinced that anyone had "rocked" TF's status quo. So I'll just be waiting and seeing.
COME TO TFVIEWS oh you already did

What is your problem Anderson? We are getting a gimmicked legacy number, not a gimmicked #1.

For the record, this plays into the theory that I have had for a few years about IDW testing the fans' limits and tolerances for this sort of thing.

Sounds like we're getting both to me if they relaunch after #125 with a new #1 for two titles... :?

And here I was looking forward to finally seeing some higher numbered issues of Transformers again. Y'know, by actually just getting there one damned issue at a time.

Guys, slow down. Is there anything other than a tl;dr post by TigerMegs saying that they're actually jumping back to #1 after the (admittedly gimmicktastic) #125? Let's not panic until we're sure.

For what it's worth, I was assuming that #125 would indicate a time-skip of some sort, showing off plotlines from a few years in the future to hint at where the issues with normal numbers were gonna go after this whole 'Chaos' thing. Sorta like DC One Million, but not nearly as far into the future. Of course, my theory would mean they would have to skip #125 once they actually got that high, but I'm probably wrong anyway.

In that interview with Chris Ryall I posted a segment of, he says they will have "a relaunch of two new “Transformers” titles". 'Relaunch' and 'new' sounds like they'll be going back to #1 to me...
