Kitbashing with Stealth Bumblebee

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

Kitbashing with Stealth Bumblebee

Post by badwolf »

I picked up stealth Bumblebee a while back & did some changes with my regular Bumblebee. First I swapped heads giving my Bumblebee the "shield down" look. Then I touched up the originals head some adding silver & painting the antenna black. Later I removed the autobot symbol replacing it with a decpticon logo I now have.... movie Waspinator.

I know it was nothing very grand or all that but I was happy with the way it turned out.

I wonder how the stealth head would look on "classic Camaro" Bumblebee?

Do we even have any evidence that MooBee even has that head?

Also, I dunno if the ball joints are compatible, not owning OldBee.

Good work on that Wolf. Sometimes, the simple conversions are the best.

As for the head swap, I am not sure if the heads are swappable. I think retro-B has a head the plugs into the neck, rather than plugging onto a neck-peg.

Having just purchased Premium NewBee today, I can confirm that the heads on OldBee and NewBee are fully swappable. Both look pretty good for it, too.

Man, OldBee is so much better than NewBee.. Seriously, guys, I know Hasbro's OldBee sucks, but why is there so much love for NewBee? His transformation is decidedly un-fun, he's covered in kibble, and parts pop off all the time.

He just looks cool? That's all the reason I got.

Haven't had too much trouble with my NewBee losing parts, and the transformation's okay, as far as I recall.

IMO, the concept camaro looks better than the old one. I also have to say NewBee looks a lot more movie accurate than the OldBee. So like 138 Scourge said, he just looks cool. Plus I've never really had a problem with parts popping off and I like the transformation...

NewBee is more fun in concept. But, unless you are like Sparky and got a rare one that does not have "fly apart when you look at it funny" action, it is annoying.

I actually like the retro-car better, as it fits the character better.

Does it really, Dom? Bumblebee, being mute, is a very hard character to peg down. I've got him moreso as the Standard Soldier kind of guy, like...Bluestreak or Smokescreen. Or perhaps Hot Rod before all that stupid Matrixy nonsense.

I am thinking more of the "Bumblebee as the underdog" idea. It came across more when he was an old beater.
