Reign of Starscream preview pages up

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

"Reign of Starscream" is good. I am waiting for it to finish before I sing it praises much more, but so far, it is my favorite IDW series. I am assuming "drudge" is intended to be some kind of TF slang.

It does look good. I should download this.

Also, I'm really sick of comics these days outlining their pages in fancy borders. Give me Plain White, dammit.

Hooray, Stockade! I less-than-three Stockade. And he's actually..enforcing, so they're respecting the bios, for major points with me. Same goes for Dreadwing teleporting, that sort of touch always impresses, since it's paying attention to the characters' only existing fiction.
Also, points for the repaints in context and such. The one Dreadwing hunts down appears to be Crosshairs.

I've enjoyed this story so far. Amuses me how well it contrasts with The Gathering, despite both having the same premise of "Look, non-show characters!"

The big difference here is that this comic has an idea beyond "look, non-show/movie characters". It is a good character study for SS.

I think the guy Dreadwing chased down was Signal Flare, not Crosshairs. Either way, some of the store exclusive recolors's appearances are contradicting the character bios. But, considering that those same characters are not even drawn to toy model, I just assume that these are technically different characters.

I just finished reading this mini series. Good character study of movie Starscream, and will hopefully lead into the next comic book taking place before ROTF.
My biggest complaint is while I under stand why they used TF's who are part of the video game/Expanded movie universe toys. the Cybertron modes really gave me trouble telling some of them apart.

Heh, but given that this is likely the only fiction those random repaints are ever going to get, best that they get a good showing out of it. Taking the time to work out who was who helped the art make an impression, and I thoroughly appreciated the little touches they used to make redecos of the same toy look completely different. Crosshairs, for example, being the huge master-at-arms, neat.

Just too bad a lot of the repaints were killed off.

It's not quite Furman's "Look, obscure characters!" "Look, they're dead!", but I do hear ya there. Then again, having them there in all their movie-aesthetic glory would just make me desire toys of them in cybertronian form.

Although, funnily enough, killing them in cybertronian form directly contradicts their existing in earth-mode toy form at all. Dom, you're allowed to hate the series now.
