Crossovers- ideas?

Ancillary, non-main-line stuff. Star Wars TF, Speed Stars, Titanium Series, Robot Heroes, that sort of thing. They're kinda neat, but we all know they're not really that important. Admit it, you know it's true.

Crossovers- ideas?

Post by BWprowl »

So we started with Star Wars, and now we've got Marvel. Where else can Hasbro go with this idea? Of course, it also becomes a question of 'What other usable lisences does Hasbro have?'. G.I. Joe is the first one that comes to mind. Not only would iconic vehicles turning into mech-suit versions of the various characters (HISS tank into a Trooper? Dragonfly Copter into Wild Bill? Snake Chariot into Serpentor?) be spiffy as ever, but if they were done at a scale that would allow them to be compatible with 3 3/4 inch Joes...ooh how sweet THAT would be! Of course, the fans of G.I. Joe being portrayed "Realistically" would certainly cry foul, but that's a nice bonus, in my eyes. ;)

Or howabout 15th Anniversary Animorphs figures? Eh, eh? Fine I'll shut up...

Wwweeelll....

I would, of course, love to see Star Trek or Doctor Who TFs, but Hasbro doesn't hold either of those licenses, I don't think.

Then there's the fact that Doctor Who isn't known for iconic vehicles, so other than, like, The TARDIS, the Master's TARDIS, a Dalek saucer, and, I dunno, Bessie, there's not much to go with...of course, as I say that, I realize that more molds than the Marvel TFs have goin' right now.

And hell yeah, I'd love to see the G.I. Joe (or at least the Cobra) TFs. As long as there was a Destro, B.A.T., and maybe Dr. Mindbender in it, I'd be absolutely down.

3&3/4" scaled GI Joe Crossovers would be amazing. No matter the cost. :)

I'd like to see a HISS, Rattler, and Rolling Thunder.

I could get behind a *good* "GI Joe" crossover line. I can see using smaller figures, maybe 2 inches or so. (Think "Exo-Squad" here.)

The big thing here is that I do not want "GI Joe character used the force/nationalist pride/wank-power to transform into a vehicle and fight for freedom" or any similar bit of stupidity. the half-assed write-ups are one of the worst things about the current "Crossover" lines.

Give me a Joe vehicle that turns into Hound or some other character. Warpath as a MOBAT. Springer or Bladesas a Dragonfly, with colors favoring the Joes. Evac as a Tomahawk.

Stunticons as fast attack Cobra vehicles. Combaticons as MARS vehicles. The jets as.....HISS tanks, I dunno.

Dom
-would totally buy this line.

Remember new characters, Dom? Remember them?

I really think turning into pre-existing TF characters defeats the purpose of the exercise, cool as it'd be.

I'm not a big fan of any of the crossover lines. I just don't think any of the properties mesh well with the Transformers concept.

Very funny. Most TF lines have a Prime of some kind, a Megatron and/or a Starscream. I am fine with new characters. (Even if it is a re-used name, make it a new character, like "Universe" Dropshot.)

But, yeah, I want 2 characters per pack, a TF with a Joe/Cobra operative. Hey, how about a faction switcher packed with Firefly or Mercer? Eh? Eh?

Yeah, that'd be Storm Shadow if anyone.

I totally forgot about Mercer existing until this very moment, also, and now demand a 25th version.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

I'd love a transformable fleet of bikes for the Dreadnoks. Especially if they incorporated their characteristic weapons. There just aren't enough chainsaws in TF...

If they were to go with the "vehicles turning into character-based mechs" model (as they have with the Star Wars and Marvel lines), I think a Snake Eyes that included a Timber Mini-Con would be pretty swell.
