Cyclonus problem (thanks Takara!)

Apparently, the pack in comics for the clear "United" Cyclonus recolor, (packaged with Galvatron and Scourge), states specifically that he was built from Skywarp's remains/husk/whatever.
Besides the fact that this countradicts every other official answer to the question of why Cyclonus was, there is a another problem. The explanation for these toys tries to tie them into the old "Transformers 2010" cartoon while reconciling the fact that the toys look nothing like the old cartoon. So, yeah, we have more official content that reads like bad fanfic.
Still, those toys are really tempting.
Dom
-just going to assume "no real answer" for the big question.

I agree that those toys look really freaking pretty. I can't justify the cost at all right now, but if I ever can realistically get ahold of them, you can bet I'll pounce.
I'm also now quite glad I can't read the Japanese on the boxes, since I'm hardcore Bombshell=Cyclonus (BICSIA? CIBAIS?). Screw any post-hoc material's testimony; that's what the movie showed so that's what happened, dammit!

Of course, the movie also showed Skywarp turning into Cyclonus. The movie then not only showed one of Scourge's two Sweeps dying in the second attack on Autobots City, but then replaced that Sweep and added another....and forgot the second Cyclonus.
The movie showed Sunstreaker and Hound doing road work outside the city, alongside Prowl. It then showed Sunstreaker and Hound on board/getting off of Prime's shuttle. (Prowl of course was already dead.)
Just try making sense of which Decepticons were injured in the first battle of Autobot City and which guys got tossed out of the shuttle. Go on. I dare ya.
Where the hell did Ratbat go? Hey, look, Lazerbeak's back!
The movie showed Thundercracker and (I think) Kickback attending Starscream's coronation.
Shrapnel *and* the new Decepticons take part in the attack on Junk.
I am pretty sure Ratchet dies inside Unicron. But, I could be wrong about that.
Honestly, you could probably find grounds to ignore most of the character deaths, (and thus the follow-u consequences), in the movie. (And, that is just in the movie itself! Lets not even get into post-movie episodes and comics.)
Screw it. I am now adhering to IDW's theory. Cyclonus is his own dude.
Dom
-and, Takara's context still reads like bad fanfic. ("Bad" being "bad even by the low standards of fanfic".)

Hound was never shown on the shuttle, so it's conceivable he was just hanging out in Autobot City and showed up to watch Prime beat some ass.
Bluestreak was helping move the sign.

The more and more I read of IDW, the more I like even the whole Galvatron-isn't-Megatron thing. (Or maybe he is, just from the vast future. Who knows, it doesn't matter!)

The coloring says "Prowl" while the model said "Bluestreak". See, even that is hard to be sure of.
Hound was never shown on the shuttle, so it's conceivable he was just hanging out in Autobot City and showed up to watch Prime beat some ass.
Or, maybe he ran from the access road, got on the shuttle, and then stepped off really fast. The way he is standing strongly implies "was on the shuttle at least for a few minutes". Sunstreaker is in two places at once. No two ways about it.
Oh, and hey, how the hell were the Autobots out-numbered. There were fewer than 30 possible Decepticons at the fight.
-Megatron
-Soundwave
-7 tapes
-8 jets
3 Triple Changers
-3 Insecticons
-6 Constructicons
The above numbers assume characters that did not exist in real terms, but may have existed in context.
Adding the Stunticons, Combaticons and Lugnut brings us up to less than 40, still far fewer than a city full of Autobots.
The more and more I read of IDW, the more I like even the whole Galvatron-isn't-Megatron thing.
I have the unhappy suspicion that a retcon is in the works. But, for the moment, I too am happy with this.
Dom
-and people still say the movie is good...why?

No. No no, we don't say the movie is good. We say it's entertaining. Which it is. And by all measurable standards, I would argue that it's better than Bay's movie by far.

Crap, I clicked reply instead of edit. Oh well.
As for retcon... the original storyboard specifically shows that Bombshell became Cyclonus. Skywarp was the one in the background that apparently became "Armada". It seems like toy packaging is now trying to retcon that the other way around, but I ain't fallin' for it.

I'd just like to point out that NOBODY discussed this when we were kids. Isn't it weird what matters once you're a grown up?
As I recall, we were just satisfied that Skywarp, Thundercracker and the Insecticons were dead, and their raw materials had been used to make Cyclonus, Scourge and the Sweeps. We just ignored "Cyclonus' armada". Oh, the beautiful simplicity of the child's mind!

Actually, I lost sleep over the dead guys showing up again.

Diff'rent strokes! When my friends and I saw Carnage in C-Minor, we just ignored the fact that the Constructicons were tiny and Brawn was a Decepticon now. We knew they were mistakes. Somehow. Of course, when mistakes consisted of random recolours, we made up names for them.
The purple Seeker was called Blazer. I think 'cos one used a flamethrower once...?
