Generations Thundercracker

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Generations Thundercracker

Post by Dominic »

Pics are surfacting online. And, the toy is shipping. And, given all the drama surrounding this thing since Thundergate in '07, "Generations" Thundercracker deserves its own thread.

From the pictures, I have to say it looks a bit better than the Henkei figure, if not as good as the BotCon figure.

If it's any consolation, Dom, the Generations Thundercracker news surfaced 2 days after I acquired the CHMS knock-off version to compelte my seekers display.

And I'm trying not to regret that one as well.

At least you spent only about a third as much as I did.

If it's any consolation from me, Dom, I'd actually prefer the BotCon version myself, since it's closer to the colors Thundercracker had in All Hail Megatron (which is precisely where I began to care about Thundercracker). Not that I'll be passing this one up, of course. I waited over four years to complete the Seekers, and nothing can stop me now!

...Save for wondering when they're going to make Sunstorm and the other two Rainmakers.

I dunno, AHM Thundy looked pretty standard Thundy to me. This one is definitely close to the original toy, which is my preferred Thundy shade.

Well, I had the wave preordered on BBTS so I'll have that next week and I made a deal with guy over at TFW for the Botcon set (I really wanted those Thrust wings). I'll probably part out the set to offset the cost, but basically I'll wind up with all three versions of Thundy. I'll be sure to post pics and review when I have all three.

I agree that the original toy's colors, (not moulding), are the best. But, I recall the blue on the Botcon figure being closer to that than the blue of the upcoming "Generations" figure.

Dom
-that blue is friggin' gorgeous.

Eh, TC's blue had a bit of a teal tint to it in AHM, and some pictures I saw people post of the BotCon one looked close to that shade. Looking again though, it doesn't seem particularly similar, so I'm clearly just misremembering things, so the Generations version will do just as well. Thundercracker, Hoooooo!

Sadly, I don't have an original TC for comparison. Too bad, that would make a nice pic.

Incidentally, his bio seems to have removed all mention of his rebellious streak. This is doubly disappointing as it removes basically Thundy's entire character (at least to me) as well as Prowl's entire reason for liking him. :P
