The MP hotrod toy could easily sell under the TF3/DOTM banner/label in the TF toy line as
either a $49.99 toy or $59.99 toy. like BBB Bumblebee did last year for the HFTD toy line.
I honestly don't understand what the big deal is with Hasbro, with not
wanting to mix TF toys in various TF toy lines. Kids won't know the
difference nor care. adults/veteran TF fans will notice but won't care
as this will be the only way to release this MP Hotrod toy & guarantee it gets the best chance of selling out in stores.
Obviously right now anything put in the TF3/Dotm movie toy lines will
sell out like hotcakes. So putting Hasbro's MP Hotrod under the TF3/
DOTM movie banner box art will make all retailers carry this item & it
will sell better under the DOTM label banner.
Yeah I'm sure a few TF fans will complain, cry &
create ranting threads/replies. but they do this all the time,as
certain TF fans always do this. some just can't
be pleased nor know/realize the situations behind the decisions:
examples: the whole RTS & generations complaints by some fans on mixing G-1 insired new molds in the RTS movie verse toy lines.
It appears hasbro actually thinks the retailers need to not be taken
advantage of. apparently putting recolors & remolds in another TF toy
line looks like shady/disceitful business in hasbro's eyes. hasbro
also tries extra hard to try to keep the same design look in all its
sperate TF toy lines.
Hasbro is placing too much smarts in these USA retail stores. most of
e'm don't care,most of e'm don't realize,most of e'm arent fans,most
of e'm don't reserach anything. Apparently hasbro seems scarred that
major usa retail stores will call them up on the phone & say the
following: "hey this toy you just put in this TF 2011 toy line was the
same exact TF toy mold used in the 2009 TF toy line." Or: " hey don't
be slick,we know this isn't a TF3/DOTM movie designed toy,we know it's
a classics 2007 toy in disguise with a sleek new color scheme hidden
under the TF3/DOTM toy banner label package."
Would anyone mind if Hasbro release MP Hotrod in TF3 label

...Hot Rod isn't a movie character... So yeah, I'd mind. It'd be like releasing Cheetor under the Transformers Generation 2 label.
That's what you meant, right? Your post is a liiittle bit tl;dr.

COME TO TFVIEWS oh you already did
Re: Would anyone mind if Hasbro release MP Hotrod in TF3 lab
They're only going to release him as Hot Rod, not the full Rodimus Prime version with the trailer. I've been told on every forum that apparently releasing him with the full trailer would have to retail for about 150.00. I still don't exactly see how that works but whatever I quit arguing about that a long time ago. Would it sell better under the DOTM banner? Maybe but only if it saw a more generalized release. I've also been consistently been told that apparently the MP line is too big for a mass retail release and that Hasbro can only release it in limited quantities.

I wouldn't mind if MP Hot Rod was released under the DotM label personally, as I see it, it's just packaging. But I doubt that Hasbro would or could do that. As Shockwave point out, there are other factors Hasbro has to consider with the MP figures than they do mainline figures. And as Gomess said, Hot Rod isn't a movie character. Maybe they could do that with a subline like Reveal the Shield is, but I don't see it happening with the main movie line.
