How 'bout some Mini-Con repaints?

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

How 'bout some Mini-Con repaints?

Post by 138 Scourge »

This is the set that's got my attention.

There's also a three-pack with redecos of the motorcycle, A-10, and attack helicopter from the "Classics" mini-cons. Man, they love to repaint these molds.

Anyway, that Dino set. They look really nice in those colors, but it actually sort of lessens my interest that the Tyrannosaur is called, of all things, "Dualor" instead of what it's pretty clearly homaging. Which, I know, I should try to be more nitpicky. But also, I mean, I'm a sucker for Dinobots and all, but the triceratops and pterodactyl were O.K. molds at best, and the tiger's trying to pull of Backstop's transformation without Backstop's charm. Eh, I dunno.

So, thoughts?

I'm not familiar with these moulds. Please tell me that Swoop *isn't* mistransformed in robot mode. I love it.

Yeah, that's about right. There is a robot face under that pointy bit from the dino head, though.

The point stays up!

There is something classy about the original Dinobot colour scheme.

Wow, they were a mastodon away from completing the MMPR/Zyuranger Zord team. Looks good though, and the tiger is the only mold there I really don't like, so I'll likely go for it. Where are these exclusive to?

These are exclusive to "bottom of the barrel" retailers like Family Dollar General, (when Walgreens is too high-brow). Of course, given that those stores typically get in partial cases, often months late and out of sync, your best bet is to order them online.
