It might be more fun to fiddle with than it looks to be.
Dom
-skipping the movie toys anyway....

The arms on that thing make me laugh so. Especially since, aside from them, the rest of the toy actually looks pretty good. But man those arms are silly.
The trailer's an interesting element. I mean, christ, Hasbro hasn't made an Optimus Prime with a trailer since, I dunno, Cybertron? Energon if you wanna get technical? Been a while since we saw a 'Super Mode' too. Said Super Mode is almost as silly as the arms though. It really reminds me of the sort of thing you'd see on the lead mech towards the end of a Gundam season.
Y'know, if this thing were only a $40-50 Leader Class toy, it might actually be worth that in big, silly, toy value. But for seventy goddamn dollars? I'll have to have NOTHING else to buy that month to consider it then.

$70 might be the new leader class price. Deluxes are damned near $15. Scouts are *breaking* $10.
Dom
-when did this become a rich man's hobby?

Nah, we've seen listings for the other Leaders (Sentinel and 'Bee) and they hover around $45.

Deluxes are below $12 where I live, Dom. Maybe you're just on the ritz side of town? Download coupons, I dunno.

When are they going to stop making giant stupid Bumblebees that no one wants? I'm shocked and appalled that Shockwave isn't in the first wave of Leaders.

I just hope to God that they even make him. There's a strong possibility we might not get him at all.
Somehow these Bumblebees must sell to *somebody.* Who, I have no idea. I guess kids must really like Bumblebee? In which case, why the hell they don't just continually put out the *same* Bumblebee instead of wasting resources is beyond me. (I don't really care what Hasbro says, no rightful parent is going to buy "another Bumblebee," because the child already likely owns one. Maybe a repaint or if he actually had a clear upgrade, but Bumblebee never does.)

Prowl, I live in the da hood. Check my old blog for pics of the area where I work, which is pretty close to where I live.
But, the local Target is charging $13 and change, which after tax is damned near $15. (Walgreens's prices are pennies higher.)
Dom
-I mean, really, it is like they are jacking price because they know I am addicted.

That looks so awesome that I want to roll my eyes and run Michael Bay over with my car. $80 and Prime looks super cheap, nice entire front end as the forearms, the angel/butterfly "mech suit" power up looks quite lame. I can't wait to see this in person at Comic-Con and tell the designers what a sack of crap it is.
BTW, MSRP on TF Deluxes is $13 now. Sickening, as they've also gotten smaller and smaller.

Yeah, have you seen the DOTM toys together yet? They have the Voyager Ratchet repaint/remould (AGAIN) and he looks positively huge in comparison to Megs and Ironhide...
Also, apparently this is supposed to have some kind of "motion detection technology." Oh great! It's ArPrime all over again.
