The Best of Grimlock (Transformers):
This is the latest volume of IDW's "Best of _______" series. And, over-all, it is the best so far. While I would have made different choices about what to include, I cannot say there is anything wrong with IDW's selections in this case. The strongest is either Furman's "Still Life" (from issue 76 of the original series) or Grimlock's "Spotlight". The weakest is easily a black and white story from the UK's "Earth Force" run. Sadly, "War Within" issue zero did not make the cut. James Roberts handles the introduction.

I kind of want this. In other news, the ocean's wet and fire tends to be hot.
But I dunno, depending on how much it is, I might spring for it. If nothing else, be a nice backdrop thing for the Grimlock shelf, anyway.

This is the only "Best of" volume that is worth getting if you are not a completist. You, of all people, need to get a copy.
It is $20.

Re: Best of Grimlock
Okay, what the hell? They do a Grimlock compilation, and they get someone who isn't Simon Furman to do the introduction? Look, I'm not the biggest Furman fan, but even I can admit that this thing might as well have been "Simon Furman presents the best of Simon Furman's Grimlock, by Simon Furman (With an introduction by Simon Furman!)"Dominic wrote:The Best of Grimlock (Transformers):

Re: Best of Grimlock
Furman writing about Furman's work with Furman's favorite character would be incestuous even by the standards of the franchise.
Heh, remember when told us all how much that 2 part Starsaber story in "Armada", (with the remarkably bad Pat Lee art), meant to him?
