Found - TFU Galvatron, Acid Storm, Onslaught, and Powerglide

Post by JediTricks »

Picked up all but Acid Storm at TRU in Culver City, CA. The other TRU I hit had none of them. There were plenty of Acid Storm and Galvatron, but only 1 each of the Ultras.

Galvatron is a pretty nifty figure with one of the wildest transformations ever.

Onslaught is big and pretty cool, a little simplistic in sculpt but decent.

Powerglide is really cool, another keen transformation and it makes 'the sound' for transforming back and forth right in the middle of transformation (lock that section down ASAP though or it'll keep going and going every time you flop that hinge until you get to the locking procedure 4 steps ahead in the instructions).

Acid Storm was an easy pass, I have 2 versions of this mold and none of them had that garish colorscheme, and I'm not familiar with the character.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Acid-storm is a new named character based on a nameless Decepticon soldier from the old cartoon.

So, does Powerglide have a molded heart?

I want all four of these, but I'm sure I'll only be able to get one or two at a time. Darn self-imposed budget restraints!

Nice to see a good impression of Galvatron. I think it looks good from the pictures I've seen, but it is a small figure for the character.

Tell me about it.

I walked by both "GI Joe" dvd sets last night, and am ignoring a few TFs for the moment.

Oh, but Saturday, when a new fiscal week begins.......

Powerglide has an easily-overlooked molded heart, left unpainted but right under his Autobot logo. Just have to pretend it's not there.

That's the name they came up with for a generic seeker? That name sucks!

Yeah, Galvatron should have been a Voyager or Ultra, he is small, but he's got a lot of character for what he is, and he's a fun toy too.

I broke the bank with these purchases plus the new Star Wars figs I bought.

Heh, damned build-a-droid. (I am planning a blog on that.)

The heart does not bug me on PG, as it is consistent with the character. And, it is not too intrusive, being under a panel.

I think Hasbro is trying to set up Acid Storm as one of the guys who actually dropped acid-rain on a bunch of Autobots in "Ultimate Doom".

Hey JT, are there anymore of those figures left? 'Cause I live in Scalperville, USA and need help.

Ha JT, I got Powerglide and Onslaught befoooooooore you! :P

Seriously, considering JT's mention of it and my own sighting, it looks like a mere one of each Ultra per case. And it would appear that stores aren't ordering a lot of cases. It sucks because they're $25 toys, but under these circumstances I would advise people who want them to snap these things up on sight. I'm now glad I did...

'Fraid not, I hit that store again today and cleared out of deluxes (Dom also requested one of 'em), and I got the last Ultras to begin with.

Oh, well if you got it first, whoopee! ;)
