Megan Fox not in 3. Thoughts?
Megan Fox not in 3. Thoughts?
This isn't going to affect my seeing the movie one way or the other. I will be interested to see how they explain her absense. Who wants to guess on whether or not they'll kill off her character?

They already hinted that Sam and Mikaela were having relationship issues in the second movie, and going long-distance was sure to make things worse. Just say they broke up... it happens all the time.
It doesn't matter to me one way or the other. I think Megan Fox did a decent job in both movies, and I liked the character just fine. But a change of cast could well be a good thing.

I think the fact that it took this long for there to be a topic on it shows our general apathy.

Yeah, I really didn't think any of us gave a damn, but figured I'd ask anyway.

Eh. Fox was some kinda eye candy in these movies. The type you find yourself ogling and feeling bad about later. Like, my eyes felt greasy after some of those scenes in TF2, but y'know. Kept looking. I don't think it's gonna be that hard to equal her acting contributions to these movies.
But in-story, the relationship between Sam and Mikela was made out to be pretty important to both characters. And sort of by extension to the giant robots. So I could totally see Sam and Mikela breaking up, just because it seems important to them now doesn't mean it will next year. But it'd be sort of a dick move by the Autobots, right? "Well, Mikela, you actually helped save all our lives and the Earth. And probably the Decepticons will be out to kill you. However, my boy Sam is mad at you. And I'm sorry, but Bros before Hos."
Okay, I actually sort of want to hear Peter Cullen deliver that speech.
I guess when she left Wheelie'd go with her. Soooo she's sort of have an Autobot bodyguard?

Putting aside whatever on-set drama there was, Fox is not the terrible actress some say she was. But, she is hardly essential to the franchise.
In story, a break-up would make perfect sense. If nothing else. Sam's antics in TF2 (generally being a whiny bitch) would justify her leaving. Also, it is worth nothing that while Sam took care of her juvenile record, and may have helped her father out of prison, he did not do much else.
What, the big man cannot help his girl get college money, despite her being clearly intelligent and resourceful? He left her to work where? Yeah. Hell, even Leo understoon the importance of helping his friends out. I can see them breaking up, even discounting the fact they would both be at an age where, (as Anderson put it), "It happens all the time."

Re: Megan Fox not in 3. Thoughts?
Scourge brings up a good point--lack of Fox probably means lack of Wheelie. Maybe not, I mean, who knows, right? But it'd make sense from a story context.
Arguably, Mikaela didn't want to go to college. Her father (who she risked her whole juvie record etc. for) was out of prison and running a body shop--she likely thought that more important than going to college. Steady money is steady money. And she says something to the effect that her father needs her to help support him until he gets back onto his feet. (She also implies he's a worthless fucker.) If not for her obligations to her dad, she likely would have gone with Sam. (Or possibly gone to another college, who knows.)
Dom's argument that Sam couldn't get her any money to help provide for her is pretty bogus, considering it's kind of implied that Sam's huge amount of money to go to Princeton comes from The Government, to keep him quiet about the TFs.
But that's my take!

Who the hell is MegaFox? I have no idea who you're talking about. As long as Megatron is in it, I'm good. I understand there are some puny fleshlings in these movies too, but I've never paid them much mind. Their comings and goings are of no consequence to me.
I disappear.

Yeah... it's not like we're going to see the movies for the human characters anyway.Mirage wrote:Who the hell is MegaFox? I have no idea who you're talking about. No doubt, Fox was a draw though. (And, who did not want to stand up and yell "Preeeeeeesenting!" when she was bent over the bike?)
Clarification: My arguement was not that Sam *could*not* get her money for school, it was simply that he did not. He could have got her into a local school and/or gotten her father start-up money to hire somebody else at the shop. As I said, even Leo demonstrated that he knew enough to do that.
