Dirt Boss!

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

Dirt Boss!

Post by Onslaught Six »

Got some money today, so what's the first thing I do? Blow it on toys and comic books! Darth Maul turned out to be a bit of a disappointment, so I opened up DIrt Boss for a little Basic action.

I got Dirt Boss over everyone else who was there for two reasons: He's the last remaining character from the 2007 video game. Those were called Scrappers, but that guy became someone else in ROTF itself, so here he is as Dirt Boss. I got everyone else from that decent game (except Payload and Swindle) so I figured I'd get him. Plus, he can technically be a Constructicon, and I'm trying to buy all of those, too, so.

Came packed in Robot Mode, so I'll start with that: It's good! Well, as good as any good Basic since Beast Wars. He's got almost all good articulation points--the only things he's missing are head and waist, and only head is really needed. To make up for it, though, you can kinda use the transformational joints in his shoulders for some awkward extra articulation. Think Classics Grimlock. You can also use the transformational wrist joints in his arms to put his huge forklift kibble in front of him, like spinny bladey things. Like what OcTankor should have had.

I know 86 was waiting on a repaint because he thinks the green is too neon yellow and now Constructiconny enough. I kinda agree, but it didn't stop me. He's nifty.

Toransufurm!

It's pretty easy. Everything has a place to go and snaps together. Pretty intuitive. Not bad.

Altmode Time! He's a forklift. I think this is the first forklift TF we've ever gotten, but it's a really nice altmode. The only disappointing part is that the forklift doesn't move up and down very much--the limited amount you can do it comes from the arm articulation, and probably isn't intentional. Oh well--at least it looks cool and has wheels.

So. Do you get him? I did, and I'm pretty satisfied. He makes up for Darth Maul, anyway. In this line of half-baked ideas and cruddy removed features, he's not bad.

Dirt Boss was actually my very first ROTF purchase, based on altmode alone, really. He's not the first forklift TF (Armada's Liftor takes that honor), but he's still awesome for being a forklift.

I got him now too, based on this review.
Was wondering if yours had reversed feet like mine? as in, he's pigion toed instead of chicken feet. (in vs out)

anyways, nifty bot, my only problem, is why call a forklift "Dirt Boss". You get any forklift into the dirt, and well, he's toast.........they sink, very easily...... :?

I bought it twice. Hated to part with it the first time, but that helped net me a house, so I can't complain too much. Besides, it's still plentiful enough that I was able to replace it. It's one enormously fun little toy.
