Apparently. Frankly, I don't see it happening until 2012, but who knows.

I'd like to give ROTF another view or two when it hits DVD. I'm still kind of drained from seeing it the first time, though. Maybe seeing it again will restore my faith. (Or shatter it horribly.)

ROTF is probably going to be my first Blu-Ray purchase, and will commit me to that Blu-Ray player I've promised myself on Black Friday.

As for TF3, I think it's best to go ahead and crank it out earlier. For the people who enjoyed the previous films, it's less time to wait, for those who didn't, well, it's one step closer to the finish line for this particular series (and yes I maintain that there will one day by a new series of TF films, probably not in continuity with this one).

One can but hope. As for ROTF, I really don't think I'll be watching it again. Once sober and once drunkenly MST3K'ing it were quite enough. That said, someone in my family is likely to get me the DVD of it, thinking "Huh, Mike likes stuff like this...for some reason." Sigh.

And I honestly don't know for sure if I'll be catching the third one. I mean, probably, but it's by no means a sure thing.

I thought the basic story in ROTF wasn't bad at all. It was so many of the little details and moments and characters that ruined the movie for me. The overall plot itself had plenty of interest and plenty of potential.

Indeed, and then it was just handled so poorly. The problem was that there were too many new characters spread too thin--although, to be honest, this is almost what we 'wanted.' How many of us said we'd be happy if a lot of random robots had cameos?

The problem was that so many of the random robots were just duplicates of other robots, or truly *generic* so that they had no interest. If we saw a guy in the background who is clearly Bludgeon, for example, that'd be 'awesome.' Or, in the final Huge Battle, Omega freaking Supreme shows up and starts kicking ass with no explanation. That would have been forgivable, to me. Instead, we get three Mixmasters and four Long Hauls.

I think they missed what we were saying. We wanted cameos of specific characters, not cameos of generic nameless clone bots. I really just wish the character models were a little more distinctive and had more color.

That reminds me, I guess I have to rename the forum from "Transformers Movie 1 and 2". Ooh, I got sooooo creative with it!

I hate to be unkind, but I'm glad Orci and Kurtzman are not returning for the third installment. There's no guarantee that the new writer will be any better, but we can hope.

What I don't get is that I really enjoy these guy's other work. Star Trek movie? Oh yeah, great stuff. That "Fringe" show? Lots of fun, good times. So maybe they just don't get robots.

Or maybe I oughtta just go ahead and be one of those people in love with JJ Abrams, I guess.

Star Trek was pretty good, but it had its problems too. Nothing like Transformers though.
