Bumblebee looks like he's a real solid toy, but these offerings definitely look weaker, to me. Both look not as cool as the Deluxe versions, and what's with the Arcee bike? Do we really need another one of these, when we haven't even seen the third Deluxe bike yet?

This has definitely cinched my buy on Deluxe Sideswipe now. Also, where's my Ironhide/Lennox set? Seriously, Hasbro, Ironhide needs a *good* new toy, and this is perfect for it. Ratchet's getting a new mould--throw Ironhide a bone.

I love love LOVE that car mode for Sideswipe, that is some serious badassery. The swing-wing doors look fantastic. The bot mode looks alright, I like the feet better than the deluxe, but the arms look a little simplistic and the blades look downright crappy. Still, I don't really see the utter disdain you have for these.

Arcee looks horrible, and like she's Chromia instead of Arcee no less. They put her in there because Skids is small and they need to justify play value, it's not all about making the movie recreate exactly. Still, that whole set looks like a flop, like a lot of fair ideas on ugly movie designs with no inspiration.

I think it's clear that these are supposed to be Alternators 2.0 though, and just like Alternators 1.0, the further from the opening entry, the worse they get.

Sideswipe has crappy swords, but otherwise looks really nice, especially (as JT mentioned) the vehicle mode. Still, I'm glad I have the Deluxe version too, since they both do different things well.

Now, Skids... Is there going to be a HA Mudflap as well? 'Cuz that's really the deciding factor for me on this one. I mostly enjoyed the Twins in the movie, but if I get a toy of one, I'll want a toy of the other at the same scale. So will we be getting a Mudflap/Simmons or somesuch?

Someone get pics of Barricade/Frenzy, Stat! That set holds the most interest for me!

My guess is probably it's in a holding pattern waiting to see how the first few sell, but it's not entirely likely due to its uuuuuugly features and small vehicle size.

That one was rad as hell, the pics at Botcon blew my mind even more than Bumblebee.
