Came across this during my morning news-trawling:

http://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/fi ... -questions

Amuses more than anything else, as I was fairly indifferent to the twins. Thoughts?

I assumed they were going to be mentally handicapped. I'm not sure which is worse.

Still hasn't seen the movie

I don't see how they can complain about this. This type of character shows up ALL THE FREAKIN' TIME in movies and TV. And frankly the Twins don't really play it up all *that* much. They're Wankstas, and that's about it.

I liked the twins. I thought they were kinda funny. "Man, that hurt" "It's supposed to hurt, it's an ass-whuppin'." Things like that I enjoyed.

The black people sitting next to me seemed to enjoy 'em, too, for what that's worth.

In before this turns into another Jar Jar debacle.

I honestly don't see how alien robots who "jive talk" is a racial stereotype. As the first movie explained, they're imitating human behavior they learned on the internet. There is no racial intent behind it.

Sparky ol' bean, there's some people that just don't feel right until they're offended by something.

You'd think they'd find the actual buck-toothed black guy in Simmons' mother's shop more offensive. Eheh..

Apparently, but I just don't see how the twins are that offensive. Like O86 said, you'd think they'd find the actual black guy with buck teeth in the deli more offensive.

I remember with the first movie, some people said they thought Jazz was a racial stereotype because of his introduction to Sam and Mikaela. But again, it's simply a case of an alien robot trying to relate to humans with our own culture. It isn't meant to be a stereotypical behavior at all. I think this just goes to show, sometimes people read too much into things and need to chill out.
