CW Devastator English video review

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

CW Devastator English video review

Post by JediTricks »

So there's finally an English-language review of Devastator, and it's thorough:

Until the chest plate went on, I was shocked at the gap in the midsection and expected panels to fold down to fill it in. I suspect Dom won't like that at all, since the completeness is dependent on losable parts.

So, is this changing any minds?

We more or less knew about the chest plate when the first pictures.

But, yeah, for $100+ usd, I would expect better design.

I'm getting him regardless. How many Devastators are they gonna make? I mean, really?

I've been interested since day one. If I can figure out how to justify the expense, I'm definitely buying Devastator.

Well, it turns out they're making 2, because the fucking Takara one has working elbows for Scrapper and Long Haul, and the visor flips in and out on Dev's head, AND they have their G1 weapons. Gonna be a tough choice as something this big may not carry a heavy "import tax" since it's already so expensive, and Takara's is better.

(oh yeah, also MP Ironhide, whatever, nobody's gonna care about that, right?)

If I get a Devastator, it will be the Takara variant. (It shows how low my expectations are when articulated elbows impress me this much. The visor is just salt on the wound because it is one more thing Hasbro should have just done.)

Of course, considering that a Takara Devastator will cost upwards of $200, it is still a very big if. (At this point though, I do not want an American Devastator at all.)
