March Hauls
Under Night In-Birth for the PS3 arrived either last night or on Saturday and I forgot to check the mail, it's hard to tell with Amazon sometimes (and tracking said it wouldn't even be here until Monday!). This is the English release of that Japanese fighting game I bought last year, made by French-Bread, the Melty Blood guys. I was happy to support an English release of this, since I'd previously figured such a thing was Not Happening (now come on international PSN release of Melty Blood!), and now I might actually be able to follow this thing's labyrinthine anime storyline. And I get to try it out with my stick, woo!
Star Wars X-Wing - Most Wanted Expansion Set and IG-2000 x2 - My roommate and a couple of friends have been into this X-Wing game for a while, and the news that the new Scum & Villainy expansion would be bringing IG-88 in among others was enough for me to finally jump on board. Said roommate already had an extra starter set, so I didn't need to get that in order to get the dice, damage cards, templates, etc. Just grabbed the first S&V expansion and an IG ship and got to work! And then another IG-2000 since they're made to work together in multiples (some of the option cards, particularly Accuracy Correction, are dangerously exploitable and I want to try more of them out). The miniatures in this game are super nice, also. Very well-painted (they shit all over WizKids's output for Heroclix and the like), with cool alternate schemes in expansions (the Black Sun scheme on the Z-95s in the Most Wanted set is particularly sexy). Played a few games so far, I'm enjoying having this to do with my friends, I'm glad I got into it.

I've got some of these if you want them. I got a pack of them a long time ago during my own "Heroclix-esque" gaming phase and never did anything with them.BWprowl wrote:Under Night In-Birth for the PS3 arrived either last night or on Saturday and I forgot to check the mail, it's hard to tell with Amazon sometimes (and tracking said it wouldn't even be here until Monday!). I found CW Silverbolt...at a goddamned K-Mart, in 2015, what the fuck? I went in on a whim (it's right next to our mall) and found him. Crazy shit. Also picked up a Cap 2 4" Falcon at Five Below, which is great because I'm not spending $10 on second-tier Marvel characters like Falcon.

I'm like 90% certain you've spent at least $10 on second-tier Marvel characters like Death's Head and Beta Ray Bill.
Anyway:
RID15 Warrior Bumblebee and 1-Step Fixit – What? No, I’m not letting my hopes for RID15 get up too high before I’ve even seen the show. I’m just buying the whole Autobot team that’s out now for NO REASON. Really, what happened was I saw 1-Step Fixit on shelves, which I’d been looking forward to, and decided that if I was getting him I *might as well* grab Bumblebee to go with him, Strongarm, and Grimlock. So here we are. Bumblebee is perfectly fine. As I’ve said, I love that he’s a ‘Bumblebee’ so far removed from previous portrayals of the character that a lot of people refused to even believe he was Bumblebee when he was first revealed. Like that, as the new leader, he’s got some Prime-inspired elements, like the leg-vents and head-crest. You could probably recolor this into a Rodimus and few people would bat an eye. Lack of heels is bothersome for standing in Robot Mode, but I can deal. Transformation is simple, but effective (I like the way the back section works) and the resulting vehicle mode is a pretty bad-ass razor-sharp ride, like something Batman would drive if he wore bright yellow instead of black. Sword is a neat accessory, though storage in vehicle mode is a bit dicey. He’s fine overall. Fixit is, expectedly, a fun little dude. Not sure what his vehicle mode is supposed to *be*, exactly, it’s actually got a space and handles in the back where other dudes could right him like some sort of murderous Segway. 1-Step transformation works really well, being spring-loaded with switches for both modes, and the Robot Mode is pointedly cute, if not terribly posable. Looks good though, and’ll at least hang out with my annoyingly-growing RID15 Autobot team until the Legends version comes out.
Might look around for the show, supposedly it’s out in Australia already, so I might be able to find a download for the English version.

Yes, but I actually wanted those characters because I like those dudes. I like Falcon in the movie but not enough to spend $10 on him, because there are swaths of him.BWprowl wrote:I'm like 90% certain you've spent at least $10 on second-tier Marvel characters like Death's Head and Beta Ray Bill.

Hit up a couple stores looking for CW stuff with no luck. But a Wal-Mart In was at had Cosmos and Swerve, so I bought a Swerve. I don't especially care about Swerve much, but the toy looks keen and it looks like I'd have a hard time finding Gears at this point. Now that I've bought this dude, I'm entirely convinced that the Gears/Acid Storm wave will show up here.

Picked up Brainstorm at TJ Maxx for $17. Not a great figure, a lot of problems actually, but enough charm to make it likable.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Interesting that Brainstorm showed up at TJ Maxx. Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check out a few of those.
In the meantime I decided to get the Humble Bundle after I realized that my wife has a tablet she hasn't used in at least a year. Turns out the battery was dead enough for it to need hours of charging, but still.
I'm excited to have access to digital comics finally. This Humble Bundle thing alone seems like I'd build up a good library quickly.

Engaged to the Unidentified Blu-Ray - Having a Diamond hookup means I can get things other than comics for cheap, like one of my favorite anime in recent memory on home-video. It's a bare-bones release of the show (I'm a little antsy that they crammed all 12 episodes onto a single disc), but still cool that it got put out physically at all.

MTMTE 38, yay!
Sure thing, and keep your eyes out at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Ross for Arcee and Chromia as well, reports have been coming in on those too.
