How much would you pay for Metroplex?

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

How much would you pay for Metroplex?

Post by Almighty Unicron »

I recently came into a chunk of cash I wasn't expecting, and I've been seriously considering getting metroplex. I don't think he's worth $140, but I do have a costco membership so I was thinking of going there and seeing if they have him for $80. I've even heard some costcos marked him down to $50. Is he worth it at any of those price points?

He's also a pretty big shelfwarmer, right? Could I conceivably see him drop even further in price?

I've yet to see one at retail. He'd be worth $50 to me. I don't know if I'd go $70, though it's probably worth that. There's just a limit to how much I'm willing to pay for an action figure, even one as big as Metroplex.

I saw few at Costco about a month ago when they were around $80. Bit too much for me at the time. I'd certainly consider it for around $50, but they were all gone when I was there last weekend...

I was surprised to see a TRU have him at full price a while ago, which is what prompted me to think about buying him. I was guessing that he'd start dropping in price after Christmas, and I also remember Armada Unicron being on shelves well into Cybertron's run (though oddly enough, no Omega Supremes), so I was just wondering if I could pick him up on the cheap.

I doubt you'll find one on discount. He really isn't shelfwarming at all. I've seen two at retail, both at Toys R Uses and neither one lasted a week. And that was at full price. My parents found several at Costco (one of which wound up being a Christmas gift for me) but the last time I was at that same Costco they didn't have any left. Having said that, I do think he's worth getting, at the very least I would say he's worth the Costco price. He's huge, and while being billed as in scale with Legends size figures, he can actually hold a full deluxe Autobot in his chest and on his leg ramps.
