Puzzle parts-buying multiple IDW TF G-1 comics is a turn of.

I don't need nor want to spend $8 to $15 dollars per months on various IDW TF G-1 comics titles to get the whole puzzle story read. Having the G-1 IDW TF comics story spread out in a puzzle story throughout MTMTE,RID,Spotlights,mini series,cros-overs,special events,Is all a bit too costly,too much effort,too hard core reading investment for me-----> To add coals to the fire IDW TF G-1 comics have too many reboots,too many newer writers changing previous stories/characters/plots. Personally I feel if the TF IDW G-1 comics were written a bit better & drawn better like DW or Marvel then they'd all be worth the money,time,effort,reading investment.

If IDW wants me to come back to reading/buying their G-1 TF comics,then their gonna have to get rid of the puzzle parts format. I only need/want/desire one TF G-1 comic to buy each month. Bsically give me the Marvel USA TF comics format of only one TF G-1 comic title per month.

I Dis-like the puzzle parts format because if you don't buy everything then you don't know what's going on in certain areas of the story/characters/plot. Ultimate Example: KUP died in the Zombie cross-overs book,if one didn't read this cross-over they would'nt be able to read how he dies,where he went & what events led up to him dying.

Honestly if IDW wants to do other TF comics per month,then put them in different alternate universes that don't mix in with other TF titles stories/characters/plots. If they want to do spotlights or mini series or special events issues then have them be all isolated adventure stories that don't give any back story nor future story to other IDW TF comics.

I don't see how it's that difficult, honestly. There are two monthly books that are largely independent of each other, and the Spotlights no longer tie into the main story like they used to when Furman was writing. These days they're an extra issue focused on a character and are largely standalone. The Trailbreaker and Hoist spotlights were like extra issues of "More Than Meets the Eye" that had no bearing on the main plotline of that series, for example.

I think there are several people here who only buy one series or the other and not both. That's always an option.

There are changes of direction or emphasis with a new writer coming on board, but nothing's ever been rebooted. We've never gone back to the beginning and started over.

I think they'd lose more money than they'd gain if they went to one Transformers book a month. I don't think IDW has ever published one book a month in the entire time they've had the license.

You've got a point here. Major plot or character developments should take place in the main series, not a crossover mini-series that is essentially "extra" reading material. But that's comics for you. It's not all that different than what the other company crossovers are like.

We've got two different continuities running now, IDW's universe and Regeneration One. How do you like RG1, by the way? It's a continuation of the old Marvel storylines and is self-contained in the one book.

I love the idea of the IDW Re-generation comic book series.

I plan to wait until the entire IDW TF Regeneration comic series is over with all it's issues. Then go to amazon.com & buy up all the Trade paper backs. I'm hoping amazon has some clearance sales for the first few volumes.

For me going to amazon.com & buying the regeneration TPB's all in one huge order makes sense. Because Amazon offers free shipping with orders over $25,Also the first few volumes will bound to be on sale.

I can't afford the gasoline money to travel to my nearest comic book store for each monthly issue. Because my nearest comic book store is about 27 miles away one way & 54 miles away round trip.

As far as the Rgeneration one comic erasing/making believe the G-2 comic story never eixted & making believe the G.I Joe cross-overs G-2 issues never existed--->I don't like this at all. But i'm willing to buy all the trade paper backs for re-generation because Simon furman is my favorite TF comics story writer. I know simon will write a few stories/characters/plots in this comic that I like.

As far as the regeneration one story goes,I find it odd that simon felt the need to give grimlock & his dinobots the nucleon back storybut not give any back story of optimus merging bodies+minds with HI-Q. Shockwave I felt should have been dead & not in regeneration due to megatron & galvatron teaming up on him aboard the ark in the last issues of the Marvel G.I comic. I think more transformers should have been affected by the nucleon & got after effects back stories like the dinobots,due to so many autobots being seen aboard the ark in statis chambers receiving the nucleon treatment in the last issues of the marvel TF comic.

It's about a 25 mile round trip for me. Both of the local comic book shops are on the same stretch of road within half a mile of each other. I just hop on the highway once a week or once every other week. Gives me something to do on my lunch hour.

Yeah, I'd rather G2 hadn't been overwritten in this continuity, but I understand why he did it. If nothing else, none of the stuff Furman did with Grimlock, Megatron or Hot Rod in RG1 would fit with G2. At least Jhiaxus and Rook are making an appearance. That was a pleasant surprise at the end of last issue.

This is one of my biggest complaints with the comic book industry right now. BUT, that is not what IDW is currently doing...

This is essentially what we have now and have had for the last year and half. RID, MTMTE and RG1 are all completely separate unrelated stories to each other. RID and MTMTE are technically both in the same universe, but that's where the similarity ends. And the current spotlights are actually standalones just as you suggested. I currently get all three each month, but I certainly have never felt like I needed to buy one to understand the others. Unlike Marvel or DC.

Sometimes RID and MTMTE reference each other, like Swerve and Blurr 'planning' to open a bar together, or Prowl's mind being open for Bombshell being revealed to be because Chromedome had recently damaged it. But it never really gets past cute little bridges like that, you can easily read one without the other and not be lost. I dropped RID a couple months back but kept reading MTMTE, and I'm not lost or anything.

I admit that the way Spotlights were jammed in and how they dovetailed the stories and backstories together during the Furman run was pretty rough, but they've largely gone off that and become much more linear.

Anyway, like everyone else has said, very few people LIKE buying multiple titles a month to keep up with one universe/story, but that's just what comics do these days, so we pretty much have to put up with it.
