I feel 2.0 Galvatron is the best homage design for the 1986 toy/character.
The MAIN REASON THE 2.0 TOY SUCKS is due to it being in the wrong size class which is deluxe. The main complaints this toy gets is the plastic is thin, cheap & too light.
the light, thin, cheap plastic is the fault of the deluxe size. had this 2.0 Galvatron been leader sized or $27 USA ultra size the toy plastic would have been more thick & more heavy, more higher grade.
Honestly the 2.0 Galvatron design looks beautiful in both modes. it even has more poseabilty than it should. the color scheme is even great.
Having a Tank mode to homage the 1986 Galvatron mode made the most sense due to 1986 Galvatron's alt mode technically being called a laser canon TANK. the 1986 toy even had tank threads on it.
From my stand point that 2.0 Galvatron design would have translated well in a leader or $27 USA ultra sized toy. As hasbro could have added more parts/pieces on to the already awesome design. Because it's a well known fact that deluxes have to use less parts & everything is more tight/compact on the toys due to the smaller size.
I think doing a masterpiece Galvatron using a realistic military tank like the 2.0 tank design with a robot mode that looked like the 1986 galvatron cartoon robot designs would work extremly well for a MP TF Galvatron toy or Generations leader sized toy.
