MP TF's should get released in 2 different toy sizes like the MP Robotech Valkryies toys do.
I just feel two different toy sizes are needed for these MP TF toys. One larger size & one smaller size so they fit in better with TF fans TF toys on display shelves. Also the larger size & smaller sizes can allow more fans to afford these on their budgets.
1- MP Grimlock's toy down sized to a Voyager sized toy,so it fits in better with classics/Generations TF toys.
2- MP Megatron,Down sized to a $27 USA Ultra or leader sized toy so it fits in better with Classics/generations TF toys.
Honestly I don't understand why Takara/Hasbro makes it seem like it's so hard, complicated & exspensive to release TF toys in different sizes. If KO companies can easily & cheaply do it,then it should be easier & cheaper for Takara/Hasbro to do it. I was impressed with Takara/Hasbro when they released the Energon Megatron/Galvatron mold in two different toy sizes,I was hopeful this was going to be a more recurring thing,Sadly it wasn't.
TF toys that I think would have benfited being Two different toy sizes is as follows:
1-Energon Rodimus Deluxe & Voyager size.
2- Energon Arcee Basic & deluxe size.
3- FOC Shockwave deluxe & Voyager size.
4- Classics 1.0 Grimlock deluxe & Voyager size.
5- Classics 2.0 Galvatron Deluxe & Ultra size.
6- Classics 2.0 Cyclonus Deluxe & Ultra Size.
7- Generations Scourge Deluxe & Voyager size.
8- Generations Thunderwing Deluxe & Ultra Size. with a legends size inner robot that transforms into the front jet booster part.
9- Energon Scorponok Ultra & Supreme sized.
10- Classics 1.0 Rodimus Deluxe & Voyager size.
11- MP Grimlock leader & Voyager size.
12- MP Megatron 13 inch robot size & Ultra or leader size.
13- Classics astrotrain deluxe & Voyager size.
14 Classics Tankor/Octane Deluxe & Voyager size.
15- 1996 BW Deluxe Cheetor/Tigatron/shadow panther Deluxe & Voyager size.

KO doesn't care that an upscaled design is not as finely sculpted and looks cheap and blocky; nor do they care that a downscaled design is risking no longer being safe. These KOs use a cheap system to deconstruct and upsize the outsides of the parts, then fire them off from their shit molding in garbage materials. They don't pay for design at all. They have no care for quality or safety, they simply want to take all the expense of someone else's hard work and make a few bucks stealing from that.
As for designing Transformers in 2 different scales, they'd be cannibalizing each other's sales and would require reworking the design to fit the scales safely, so they'd sell less of each and they'd cost more to develop, that's a recipe for no chance.

I also mentioned those MP Robotech Valkyries that were released in different toy sizes. I also mentioned Hasbro did release 2004 Energon Megatron/Galvatron in two different toy sizes. I just think Hasbro/Takara is lazy, cheap & doesn't care to go the extra mile.

Not if Hasbro or Takara releases them a few Quarters/seasons apart from each other. or a year apart from each other.

And there was Cybertron Starscream as well. There was another Energon Megatron? I only recall that coming out in one size and it was pretty big.

Yeah, there was an Ultra sized version of Energon Megatron that was released as part of a 2-pack with a Deluxe sized Energon Optimus Prime (that could Powerlink with other Deluxe figures), and was exclusive to Toys'R'Us.
It is also worth noting that Takara only released the Super sized Galvatron repaint as a "USA Edition" Toys'R'Us exclusive in Japan. Their regular release was actually the Ultra sized figure.

Interesting. I might have to track that down at some point. I like that mold but always thought it could be smaller.

Isn't the larger size part of the point of the Masterpiece line? The size allows the designers/engineers to do some things that can't be done on a smaller figure?

Exactly. Like articulated fingers and mouthplates and whatnot.

This still wouldn't work, because then everybody would just be like, "Oh, I'll just wait for the small one to come out."
This is actually kind of a problem with the video games industry right now. A great game will get lots of hype and people will think it looks great--it's a game that you absolutely have to play and own.
Six months after it comes out, when it's $25 used.
Fewer and fewer people are getting games when they release, and it's causing kind of a downward spiral in the industry. Perfectly good games are failing because people
know it's going to be cheaper in a couple months.

Robotech is an entirely different business model, and not a particularly successful one at that.
Hasbro only released Energon Megs in 2 sizes because Takara wanted a smaller mold and was willing to put out their own budget to make it because at that time the Decepticon figures were selling very poorly and they didn't think a simple toy like Energon Megs would work in Japan, then Hasbro took advantage of the available tooling when there was opportunity. It wasn't planned that they'd release a second version of that figure with a smaller Optimus as an exclusive set when they first laid out the line.

What's the benefit there? Who are they serving if they do that? What is the business benefit to that? And how does that
not cannibalize sales and shelf space?

I might be in the market to sell mine eventually, I'll let you know if I do.

Bingo! Those used games and those "Greatest Hits" price drops undercut that industry, they aim for several waves of buyers and it hurts the product and eventually the customer and the industry, so it helps nobody.
