The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone!

$119 for Gutto Kuru Figure - Minelba,is a insanely high price to pay for a 6 inch figure.anyone here buying this thing?

sadly these are liscense toy prices & not 3rd party prices.

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail

Wow,when I was a kid & watched a whole bunch of those Japanese TF cartoons like Headmasters. I thought Minelba was really hot & pretty. but not hot & pretty enough to want to waste $119 today on a 6 inch figure.

Yes I realize BBTS.com & others sites him needs to make a profit by not selling the item for what they paid for it. but for the most part their not getting over greedy & making double nor tripple profit. my guess is BBTS.com & other similar sites were able to get the minelba figure for around $105 at a discount depending on how much volume units they ordered & how much business they give CMS Corps on a yearly basis.

I know deep down in my heart that if a 3rd party TF toy company created this. it would cost under $30.

why exactly is CMS Corp,a liscensed company charging so much.$119 for this minelba 6 inch figure? are they trying to make fans/buyers pay for the takara liscensing fees? do they think fans are in love with minelba & would pay just about any price to get her toy?

too bad kotoys.com closed, because I think they would have ko'd the heck out of this minelba cms corps toy & sold it to fans worldwide for around $20 to $25.

what i'm really wondering if any TFViews members here is going to be buying cms corps minelba for $119.

You've got to understand the way the Japanese figure industry works. Companies making collector oriented, high-end posable figures like this are catering to an extremely niche market, so the production on these things is considerably lower than your run-of-the-mill, sold-at-retail action figure. Max Factory's Figma line of 4-5inch figures sell for about $30-40 at retail, and their prices on the resale market only go up from there (Japanese toys like this tend to only get one run, unless insane popularity promps a reissue). And Figma is one of the 'cheaper' more mainstream Japanese figure lines. Guttu Kuru goes to a WAY smaller audience, seemingly aiming to make large, posable, high-end figures of characters from older anime that only a select few people will actually be interested in. So you've got a high-end toy, in a market that already charges high prices for these things, with a low production run, which all adds up to a high price in the end. And I'm sure the comparatively weak Yen right now isn't helping the US-converted price any.

All that said, yeah, I'm one of the people who's probably going to buy it (didn't know it was up for preorder yet, I'll need to check AmiAmi when I get home). Probably gonna grab Ginrai when he comes out too.

I also have to laugh really hard at the notion that a third-party company could produce anything that cost less than $60, let alone a >6inch posable figure with multiple swappable accessories and option parts.

Aaaand an update. AmiAmi has Minerva for 6,600 yen, which translates out to...a little under $80 usd. Not too shabby compared to the $119 BBTS apparently wants, you might want to consider shopping around on these things, Tigs. Yeah, I just pre-ordered her. She'll make a hilariously oversized companion for my small army of Kickers.
