From Michael Bay's website:

Following “Pain and Gain,” Bay will bring audiences a new take on the “Transformers” franchise as he begins production on the fourth installment in the hit series of movies based on the best-selling Hasbro toyline. The third, and most recent installment of the franchise, “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” is the fourth highest global grossing film of all time with 1.124 billion dollars of worldwide box office success. Directed by Bay, the movie will re-unite the filmmaking team from the hit franchise, including producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto and Ian Bryce; and executive producers Steven Spielberg, Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian. Paramount Pictures will release the film on June 29th, 2014.

Eh...

I honestly didn't have as much issue with Bay's take on TF as everyone else did, but it should would be nice to see a new take on such a thing. Ah well.

We'll lets all hope Shia le Bouf,Keeps to his promise & doesn't return to do a TF4.

Since shia's movie career isn't doing so hot,my guess is he'll return for TF 4.

Hopefully micheal bay denies shia from returning in TF4.

I anticipate experiencing a lot more disappointment in the future. Both with the designs and the toy lines.

News broke last night.

I am not sure what this means as far as newxt year's toys go. (Hasbro said that there would be movie toys....for the line they stopped supporting this year?

I dunno.

Maybe Hasbro will make another show that they will not market figure for until the end? The post-G2 style drought that JT mentioned elsewhere is unlikely. But, we could see the kind of drifting that we say in '04....right in time for the 30th anniversary of the franchise.

We already have a thread for this.

That said, I think the extra year break might free up people's perceptions of the line. We've gotten Movie Toys every other year since 2007, and in 2010 we were 'still' getting them anyway because of the yellowbox line. It's no wonder DOTM is failing, there was almost no break between ROTF and it.

Sorry. I guess Anderson can merge the threads or something.

The yellow package line was just a cluster fuck of vague branging and poor distribution.

-wondering if 3 years might be too long....

I think I’ll deal with it by enjoying watching all the people getting blood-boilingly-butthurt over two hours of mediocre filmmaking. Plus, hey, new Movie toys, and I’m pretty much the only one in the world who still likes those! I’ll also be interested in seeing if those rumors about Jason Statham in the fourth one turn out to be true.

Actually, I just realized, you know what’s incredibly likely, going into a fourquel?

EDIT: Oh, and I'm naming it now: Trans4mers

That's hardly a spoiler I think.

Also, I bet you're right on the name.
