I LOVE me some Mega Man.

If your comic shop is out they should be able to order more. At least mine is going to. In fact, at my comic shop it's selling so well that the owner is increasing the amount he orders. I currently only have issues 3 and 4 and I don't feel like I've missed anything.

I am just going to hope for a compilation of the "Mega Man" comics.

As for "Wonder Woman", nothing with George Perez involved is going to be all bad.

Then again, I dunno how well they collect the Sonic comics, but these are starting from scratch.

Honestly, Dom, two issues in the long run of things isn't exactly a big deal, especially when you consider this is the starting point and it's just the MM1 story. Frankly I'm interested in what they're going to do with the next arc.

Yo, Shocky. If you're digging the "M.O.D.O.K.'s 11", then may I recommend "Taskmaster: Unthinkable"? Same writer's behind it, and it's another example of a really good villain book.

Starting a run of a book so close to the beginning while missing the actual beginning is the kind of thing I avoid. (I would rather have few comics than more gaps in my collection.) A long run by a writer that is missing a few issues is still incomplete.

And, I have been meaning to switch over to compliations more than single issues. This is as good a place to start as any.

Is that Taskmaster series the post "Dark Reign" series? Been meaning to read that actually.

Waitwaitwait: This from the guy who's willing to have incomplete runs of a title to follow specific writers is now complaining about not having a run from the beginning? I know, you follow the story that the writer produces, but it's still with an incomplete run of a particular title. Usually. Now, we know from earlier arguments that I am an absolute stickler for having complete runs of comics and even I don't have a problem missing the first two. That should tell you something. That something is: It's awesome. get it. You won't regret it. And besides, your shop should still be able to get the back issues.

It's a pity you missed Issue 2; it's got Cutman in it. And frankly, you can't have Cutman without a ton of deliciously horrible cut-related puns.

Seriously. At Otakon, there was a Mega Man photoshoot I was involved in--we sat there posing for a good ten minutes while making horrible cut-related puns. Because there was a Cutman there. (I'm pretty sure my favourite was "Cut it out, you guys--this is serious!")

The first two issues are part of the same arc that issues 3 and 4 are a part of. And, they are likely by the same creative team.

Well, I finished the Spider-Man compilation I had checked out, the one that concludes with One More Day, and I have to agree that OMD is pretty dismal. I really do have to question the premise behind the whole thing. But the story leading up to that is actually fairly interesting, as Peter Parker publicly admits that he's Spider-Man, deals with the super-hero registation act and has to go on the run with his wife and aunt, proving that the secret identity was the right choice. There's a willingness by the writer to toss out the status quo, probably because he knew it would be undone anyway in the end. And it is quite satisfying to see Peter Parker beat the Kingpin to within an inch of his life. Kingpin strikes me as someone like Lex Luthor, a villain who simply doesn't realize that they're only still alive because the super-hero they antagonize won't kill them, not because they can't. Sadly, I suspect the beatdown is undone by OMD.

I'm only passingly familiar with Marvel characters, but I had no trouble jumping in and following the story, despite the no-doubt years of storylines and continuity that came before this. I might have to browse a few more trades, particularly since the local library has a good selection. No too bad.
